Will try to get my RV up and running by August '08 (got hit by that ice storm Jan '07)
Plus...I live halfway in between and will offer my car for airport transfers.
and beer runs.
I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in horseback riding on our little strip of the Katy Trail (Ozark Greenways)? If so, I think I could set that up.

Hello! Gerry from Pittsburgh, here. I'm thinking about making the trip. I have traveled extensively but never to the Mid-West.
Most likely I'll be coming by myself. Not a big deal. =) I'll be a tent camper and do not need electric. But, I noticed this in the initial posting....

Funny you posted that. I'm an aspiring travel writer and I have a specific project I'm working on. I need help linking up with someone who might let me ride with them as their passenger that weekend - and hang out with them. Someone who has a unique or interesting background or story to tell. This will be a great project and my goal is to get the article into Easy Riders or similar publication(s).
Can anyone put me in touch with this 'Tulsa Toby' or someone else who might be riding and not mind the company?
Yes, I love me a biker and yes I love to ride but this is not a way for me to get hooked up with a biker for the weekend simply to have someone to ride with - I can give you references in regards to this project if you'd like.

Anyone traveling from Pittsburgh or the North East? I will be. Roundtrip flights from Pittsburgh are running around $250 with taxes/fees. Rental cars are pretty cheap, too.

I've requested the days off from work. Cancelled another event I had scheduled. Looking into flights (Thanks for the Info Bounty!). So glad it's summer since I'll have to transport my tent and other gear - with airport luggage regulations being what they are, there won't be much space for clothes. I'll be traveling light!
Toby, I've added you as my friend and I'll send you an email later about the ride and my project.
Look forward to seeing all of you in August.
BTW - Do we need to send a deposit to anyone?

Traveljunkie, it might be easier to mail it rather than have to lug it around on an airplane and through the terminal. I'd send it snail mail to one of those Missouri boys. =)

I'm not partial to country music (unless it's a patriotic song) can we have some good old rock & roll, too. Some Southern Rock, Old School Rock, Metal, and such.

I want to go. I live just less then 30 miles from the Missouri
border in Iowa. Am I to late? count me in...
I just got all new camping gear too. Just been buying it over
the last couple of weeks. I'm not sleeping on the ground. I
bought nice coleman cots and memory foam cushions
A New Coleman 6 person tent, 5 gal water cooler,Big igloo cooler
and I even have my own Hassock !! So someone
