For me I am actually reading the body of the profile, then I read the interests.
Then I go back and read all the vitals.
I really like to see how they project themselves in their All about ME area.
that is the first glimpse I get.
Then after I have read everything I look at pictures.
Sorry not normal I know

I look for smoking and drinking.  I cannot stand smoke and if he is more than an occassional drink I am afraid he may be an alcholic and I am not going there again. Then I read everything else. Sorry but I am picky!

I look for several things
if he smokes - definate turn off
If He Drinks - more than a few makes me question if he is a Alcoholic
our common intrests
and by reading his profile if he has a sense of humor , if his profile can make me laugh a definate plus
and if he is appealing to my eyes 
And his Location

First I check to see if they smoke. If they do, hasta la vista! Then I look to see what they've written about themselves. After that, if I'm still interested, I'll look at the picture if they have one. If they don't then the profile needs to rate at least a "9" to make up for it!
