And there, Hark!
the great philosophers
think in silence!
can you hear the pin drop?
at the end of thy journey,
I have lived a good life,
while you, oh great philosophers,
have only thought about life.

face the rain
by taurok at 2/2/2008 7:06:10 PM

when you turn to face the rain,
which face will you show?
will it be the one you wore?
or the one that feels
the wetness that falls upon thy skin!

be true, in all you do,
for tomorrow the rain
may leave,
and you may be,
forever alone!

From my blog....thanks Dustin, I was hoping for such a forum.

locked away!
by taurok at 2/2/2008 6:57:02 PM

Damn, let me find, that which seems
no less than whole, yet, part of
what use to be,
locked away, like a trinket
in a box
where the ballerina
dances alone,
still waiting, hoping,
wishing,
that the star would once
again, sparkle.

another one brought over from my blog

Two footprints
appear in the snow,
whose is the rich man?
do you know?

Two sets of hoof prints
appear in the sand
which set is which?
whose owner has land?

Two paths diverge,
only one has been trod,
one man is richer,
and one is a fraud.

one from my collection.

PARABLE

Wandering, aimless and distracted,
Through mountains and wilderness green,
Endless paths of my impatience growing,
Come to rest at the edge of the ravine.

Here I lay my head, but for a while,
Calm the soul, adrift to dream,
The folly of the idle flies,
Follow not the silent scream.

this is the first in the trilogy of Parables.

THE SILENT SCREAM

I came upon a clearing,
and here, I met the gathering horde,
The beggars, the cripples,
the blind man with his sword.

It is here, the lesser find
A tongue for the Silent Scream,
This place of undesirables,
Ahhh, this place, they are free to dream.

second part of the trilogy

ON THE VIRTUOUS

Ahhh, but those of virtue,
Who stand before the virtuous claim,
To be risen up before their kind,
By virtue, this is their fame.

Go now, you disciples of virtue,
Quench your insatiable thirst,
For jewels and yellow lustre,
Till your soul is ready to burst!

To those of the Golden Serpent,
You virtuous seekers of fame,
Hear not of what you speak,
Your soul is one of shame.

final part of the trilogy

TIME ?

Time! the wrist watch,
Alarm clock, Wall clock,
Big Ben's of time,
electrical, mechanical,
sun dials of old,
How bold!
Those novel increments of life,
Rhythmic undulations,
Intrepidations,
quaint receptacles
measuring the breath of life.
Today, I tick tocked away,
A second, a minute, an hour
to play,
A day, a week, a month, a year,
a measured time,
from here to there!
Never enough time,
too much time
on my hands,
Neverending,
shadows descending
upon the dial
of my mind,
I had the time of my life,
Not lived!
Now deceased!!

I was going to say the same thing. Possibly "time" becomes more prominent in our lives as we grow older? I never used to pay much attention to time....except, of course, to be sure I arrived somewhere on time, when I was obligated to do so. However, I now seem to realize how much "time" slips away from us while we're not looking. And, I make a conscious effort to use my "time" as it pleases me.

Golly, it's fun having this thread...and having the opportunity to spend our "Time" in an enjoyable way.

Fondly,

JUDY

VIRTUE CLAIMED

Of ethics and morals,
We sit on our laurels,
And falsely proclaim,
Our innocence.

Watch evil invade,
A life we have made,
Then turn a blind eye,
To it's being.

And yet, we still kill,
And not for the thrill,
This we proclaim,
In the name of God!

BAPTISM

You soothe my naked soul,
With a touch, you swell,
Your satiny flow surrounds me,
Fulfills my heat, licking flesh,
Your caress enticing,exciting,
Stimulating my senses,
You take all of me,
And I empty into you,
My spirit relaxed and sated,
By your waters.

HUMAN FRAILTY

We see with our eyes,
But not our mind,
We touch with our hands,
But not our hearts,
We laugh with our lips,
But not our soul,
We express affection with our bodies,
But not our love,
We lie in bed naked,
Together...
But not united!

I woke up today,And looked outside my window here..
Other than green the grass was crystal clear
The sky is gray and I dont know,
Why do the gods make it so damn cold?
Why do you tease me almighty Lord of thunder?
You make me feel like a child as I wonder.
Where is the snow? Why wont you fall?
Once again, you fool us all..
Then Quick as a blink,It comes to me,
We are in Texas ,Here we be!

I cant see snow, not quite yet.
No,its not because the cows would be upset
fact of the matter,no livestock would fret.
Squirrels and cactus they dont give a shit,
My dog Boo would just go and sqat in it.
For all these thoughts, there is really just one reasons for this.
Here in Texas we walk and Talk are own way,
And f*ck you partner ,
We get our snow in May!
