mine has to be my mom's apple crisp. there's just something so comforting about it.
i should correct myself -- it's AT LEAST my great-grandmother's recipe. i really wish i could have met her. i've heard from my dad that she would always be cooking something.

I'm not a big sweet eater, but I do have a number of favorite's.
One was made by my late Aunt, called "Lemon Cake" that had icing vs. frosting.
i love icing on things like pies and stuff, but my cakes gotta have frosting

A very well-aged sauterne or port is the very best way to end a meal; cheese cake is much cheaper though.

Hmmm. Tiramisu perhaps. I love the coffee, the chocolate, the creaminess. Homemade is better than anything I've had in a restaurant yet though. Otherwise, perhaps Bananas Foster. I love bananas, rum and caramel and I love vanilla bean ice cream.

I haven't had it for decades because I don't have the patience to make it from scratch, but my Mom's Black bottom pie was always my favorite.
Second to that, I messed around with a carrot cake box mix this weekend that was pretty hard to stop eating.
I added a half can of crushed pineapple, a cup of fresh grated carrots, walnuts, and extra spices.
And because I was an egg short of the 3 called for, I substituted diet root beer for water in the recipe.
When I mixed the cream cheese frosting I added a couple tbls. orange marmalade and sprinkled more walnuts on top.

you like to play with your food soak raw cranberries over night in brandy then when you mix your cream cheese add in the cranberries and soak your finger in that brandy flavored with cran berries

That sounds rather good. I'll have to try that. I've soaked dried berries or raisins for cookies and always use the liquid in something, and using it to soak the lady fingers and putting the soaked cranberries in with the mascarpone cheese sounds good.

I love a good banana coconut cream pie. I think banana and coconut go well together. Chocolate goes with either too. Apples cinnamon and caramel sounds good, I'd probably throw in a little fresh ground nutmeg. Maybe in a turnover or something like that.

Oh, I bet it was fantastic. I'd serve that with vanilla bean ice cream, the best of the vanilla varieties. I might even make a sweet rum sauce to top it all off with.

It really just depends... If i haven't had chocolate in a long time. I'll get in the kitchen and make a really moist three layered dark chocolate cake! I might place vanilla icing in between or make some type of berry filling in between layers. Or just chocolate iced in chocolate ganache.
If I have strawberries available and very good chocolate on hand. I'll warm the chocolate up and make a couple of chocolate covered strawberries as a treat for myself.
Italian Cream Cake with buttercream icing from scratch is another favorite.

I can't it my favorite since I had surgery a few years ago but everyone else loves it still. I have family members that will fight for my pineapple upside down cake. They just love it.
One of my nieces requests a hawaian delight cake each year from me. It's awesome & full of fruit. I have a food allergy to pineapple so I make myself a strawberry version.

German Chocolate Cake. Just being a coconut lover helps...I could eat the whole thing solo. Though on the lighter side, Apple Cake is good to (mainly white cake, with apples diced and baked, with powder sugar as the topping)
