I'm just curious to know does anyone else keep in contact w/ their ex? My ex and I broke up a few months ago, however, he still calls and texts me with casual conversation....I'm a bit confused though because I don't know if he still likes me or what?? Would appreciate feedback...

Yes...to be honest I am friends with most of my ex's...
Just went to a play with my ex-husband and my son last night, it was pleasant. We have been divorced for almost 6 years but we are better friends than we ever were husband and wife..
As far as the others? YUP..routine check ins..just to see if we are okay. on occassional movie as friends..it can be done. Maturity is needed though.
Your ex may very well just want to be friends, do not over analyze it and just ride it out.

It is hard for me to state what his intentions are because I do not know him oryou, the ins and outs of the relationship..you gave us crumbs girl..lol..
He may be trying to get back with you however I stated what I did based on my experiences and the reality thatI can hold friendships with my ex's..

Yes, we have Ariel together so we keep in touch. Me more than him. I try to keep him updated on current issues, events, and whatever with our daughter, but as far as just talking, no. I still have a lot of ill feelings towards him and if I talk to him to long the thing that split us up comes a mental picture and I get upset all over again. I wouldn't say we are friends but I do still care about him because he is my daughters father.

yes I have contact with most of mine when you spend time with each other a friendship is bound to happen and if you are with someone for an extened amount of time then I think the friendship thing is the hardest thing to over come. unless it was a bad deal. you must feel something because he could not keep in touch unless you want to also. Friendship is the hardest thing to maintain.

But other ex's i have kept in contact with on and off over the last couple of years. To me knowing we are Ex's and its not going anywhere other then a friend its cool with me.

My kid`s dog, 16 has a stroke, ex #2 hears about it and starts texting, put the dog to sleep! Duh? you abandoned the dog, your kids, and I threw you out, I should listen to you because? "my mother gave me that dog"! ya it shows the same level of respect for her? Dog was treated by the vet, and was ok for another 7 months. It gave the kids that had grown up with the dog a chance to get used to the idea his days were numbered, and at some point it would be better for him.
Ex #2 starts texting, I am coming over to pick up Bandit (my dog). Say what? my dog is lonely she needs her playmate. Say what? did she tell you this? why do you think I would give you my dog? I will take you to court! Go right ahead bimbo, did you read the divorce papers? everything you had any claim on had to be out of here by the day of the divorce? and I have been more than fair?
Ex #2 starts texting about her health insurance plan, duh? not my problem? it`s your health insurance plan. Open up the book and read it? go to human resources at your employer and ask them? run it by that rocket scientist you are shacked up with? By the way, I show all these texts to our kids, just so they have a better understanding of why I won`t talk to you!
Ex #1, in some ways worse, I can have a more intelligent conversation with my kids, my dog, the wall, my hand. If you try to talk to people for years and you reach the conclusion nothing you say can be understood? Is there a point in trying?
Text messages only, I like a record of exactly who is insane. I don`t contact them, there is nothing they can comprehend.

 Only when she decides to show up in Family Court( I read and save the best/worst texts that come daily,for court)Thanks to psycho-mom,my daughter and I attend family counseling because how the F*** do you explain "Mental Illness" to an 8yr.old? Thank God Dad's can now win in court in NY state(only w/in last 3-4 yrs.)She didn't want to be a mom,partner or anything useful,got herself SSD and now wants to know why I won't"friend" her on Facebook.Give us a break already.MOVE on just like you moved out...

Nope there is a reason she is called ex. We have four daughters and I let them communicate with their mother instead of me. All my daughters are grown. The only time I had them contact her was when one of them was getting married.
She did send me a Christmas card one year. But I thew it out. And never sent her one. I think she beleives now I have money. Since I gave all my daughters nice size checks for Christmas one year. I would rather have my ear burned off than to have t ocommunicate with her. During my daughters wedding I made sure I did not have to talk to her at all.

I still talk to my ex's.....and don't even want them back we are all clear on that...I got rid of them for a reason....
I don't allow them to hang out at my house or anything, but I talk with them on occassion, well with the exception of my daughter's mother we talk frequently about our daughter and life in general ( differnt things that are happening in our lives etc,...)
but we don't hang out together or anything, but we are still friends
I've never did any of my ex's wrong, so they have no legitimate reason for not liking me, and I don't hold grudges at all, but they found out that I wouldn't deal with being lied to or cheated on.....I'm very fair with them....

My ex wife and I always got along great. Yes really, but in the end had no common interests, which was ok at first. I think we both thought we could change the other.
Plus we were both older, and wanted a kid, so we have talked since then, and that is the big reason we got married.
So yes we still get along great, and would do anything for the other, yes mostly for our daughters sake, but each other as friends as well.
Now my so called ex GF, we still date and do things, so I talk to her daily. She needed some space,yet still wanted to do things, just not a serious relationship. I think eventually this one will work, so I am not sure this fits into the thread, but we still chat daily!!

Yes, I do. We have kids together. We talk about what is going on with kids, stay up to date what/ when they have they have things going on. I don't have my kids pass messages back and forth. They don't need to be put in the middle. As far as personal info goes, no. What he does is none of my business and what I do is none of his business. We both agree on that, so it's a win/win.
