Suzie, Burns Park in North Little Rock has a nice dog park, and lots of other cool things to do.
The park in Mena that doesn't allow dogs is a historic park in downtown Mena, and I think it is a poop issue. Ther's a playground and pavillion, and a natural spring with ducks, so it's really not set up for dogs. Not a real animal loving kind of community, either, if you know whay I mean.

I am not sure, but at Mt. Ida, on the court house lawn there is a stage where musical activities are presented free for any who wish to attend. It's been a while since I was there and am not sure of the schedule. It's mostly country style music, bring your own lawn chair, a box of cold drinks, close your eyes and pretent you're a youngster listening to the Louisana Hayride. Nice, quite, except for the music, and laidback. No screaming headbangers or wild kids running all over the place. Anyone interested might check with the Mt. Ida Police Dept. or someone in the courthouse for scheduling.
The city of Hot Springs Band had an open air concert schedule, that was presented on the common on Whittington Park up by the Weyerhauser offices. Again free to the public and I think the band has a website that shows their schedule. Either of these may have been curtailed because of our hot humid summers, but I`m not sure.
