Hey guys what is the best flea and tick killer for the yard? Must be safe for my dog to be able to go back outside after it is applied. Had a problem last summer and don't want to fight it again this year. Any ideas?

I used Diatomaceous earth at my parents housse a few years back and had tried all kinds of spray which was expensive, this stuff worked and was cheap, I added a link and you can buy it at local pool supply stores.

Put your canine on a monthly dose of flea and tick preventative.

He is on the monthly med for fleas already. But the fleas in the yard were a big problem last year anyway. Just want to avoid that happening again.

It don't do me any good to deflea my yard,I take mine out to crap, He has to go to the edge of the road or in the field next to the house,He won't go in the yard,Which is a good thing, when I mow I don't run over it and have to smell it all the time mowing,LOL
But Seven dust does work,I dust my dog with it,..

I've used it on mine,And a friend of mine used it in his house,Just don'
t leave it on to long,Or get it around their eyes,It never hurt them,It is a posability that they could have an allergic reaction to it,Now you can't find seven dust 10,The new stuf is a lot weaker,so I don't know if it will work as well, I also know my daddy used to use the older stuf on his garden,And the dogs were always walking through the garden,It never hurt them<..

This was on web in May 2008, by a green author, it does mention the "earth" one of the earlier posters mentioned. Good Luck.

Home Defense has a few products out that kill fleas and ticks for the yard. They work other insects, too. You just have to wait for the grass to dry before letting the dog back out. I had some problems with ants in my yard last year and it worked. It lists all the insects it kills on the bottle.

There are several different ways to rid yourself of pesky critters such as fleas and ticks.
1. and this really depends on the size of your lawn, take 5 gallons of diesel fuel or kerosene an put it in a garden sprayer. Apply the contents of sprayer to lawn, when finished, set it on fire. If first application didnt work repeat until all grass is gone, thus killing all fleas and ticks. Fido can then go out an play safly.
2. Train the dog to eat fleas and ticks.
3. Make a weekend game of it, who can find and kill the most fleas and ticks.
4. Call ready mix concrete, or Pyles and have them deliver enough concrete to cover your lawn about 3 inches thick, work said concrete to a smooth finish then lightly sweep to give it a nonslip texture then paint it green. Thus removing all fleas and tick, and eliminating the need for any lawnmowing..
5. Solve all flea and tick issues and save tons of money and worries by, simply getting rid of the dog..
Oh I know yall love your doggies, kitties, birds, goats or whatever, but arent they a pain in the ass?
Just my take on things...
