when you post to any thread, you can be either a veteran poster here with DU or perhaps you're kind of new here too: Some questions!!!
Do you sometimes, see an interesting response by someone posting to a thread, yours, or someone else's and say: i agree with that opinion (or for some other reason, do) or maybe not agree, but because you become curious, do you click onto that curious person's profile and view it for the hell of it, getting to read what this person is all about from their profile. Can you tell from a profile only??? Do you or may you hold their profile against them, if they post unsatisfactory to your viewpoint???
Have you even sent an email to someone, anyone here, to follow-up a post, after viewing the threads: possibly saying in an email: that you did read their profile and have you complimented them on it too/ and their recent post on any thread. Did you feel it was better to email them intimately, then to post to the thread itself your feelings for any reasons???...
Has anyone done this or is it just me... This has nothing to do with doing a search for a mate, but we all read the threads hopefully (where this place is suppose to be like Cheers, where everyone knows each other's name)...
NOTE***You may also be the type of poster, who just reads the threads but have never posted to these threads but you too have clicked onto any thread and because you don't post, have you sent an email saying: i enjoyed your post on a thread and liked your profile.
Sometimes, that can break the ice for some people too, is my opinion...why not post for the first time your opinion here and introduce yourself too to everyone***
I admit some of the above happens to me a lot here, but does it happen to you too, veterans, silent readers here, and new people...What do you relate to what was said here??? Thank you

only if i don't understand something jhny still doesn't know the meaning of B.A.S.S
i thought the profile would give me an insight to what the poster meant to no avail.
e-mails i usually use for ?'s the boards may feel boring!
or i may want to send a file like Hur yesterday i have a blues song i wrote
a long time ago i have no music to it and would like it to be finished!
or if a lady freind looks like conversing will ask for a chat?
bout it!!!

I form opinions based more on what a person posts in the threads. Anyone can craft a profile to sound *wonderful*, like hot fudge chocolate with ice cream.
If their profile does not match their posting style (including spelling)..
one has to wonder if the profile was created by a professional, not the real person.
When the person writes consistent thoughts, and holds true to their values,
they are more respected by me. I would read their profile if I was interested in them as a person, man or woman. I like friends that are straight shooters. We do not always agree with the host of the thread or the responders. That is why this is a community of people.
We are unique in the dating world.. websites.
BTW........Dustin posted that we have had over one million posts!!!!!
Obnoxious people, would not warrant me readying their profile...(who cares, delete)
too many wonderful people to spend my time with. I do correspond with DH people by email and phone conversations.

They are the only profiles I look at. just to get an idea who they are. You can learn more about someone from there posts then there profile most of the time. Good tread Sorprano ! !

my point people: i was trying to always be humorus here as much as i could via many threads, if people do review my profile, great, but it's been written to read funny too/ almost all of it true too--
another thing sometimes i feel a profile is just like a resume is: the resume gets you the interview vs the profile gets you the attention too--anyhow thanks for posting so far some good points of view here--let's have some more...

Sometimes... absolutely!!! I thought that was what it was all about?? That's basically what I'm doing here... to hopefully find someone who intrigues me in that way... the things they think, or say. I guess, overall... I'm a pretty "odd duck" and, due to certain realities... can't be in any great hurry... but, it's a real education seeing so many diverse personalities... and, some wonderful women... and, great people, in general...

sometimes, i see short profiles / short posts and short attention spans
long profiles/ longer posts and greater attentions spans
we have to hear more from new people/ silent people here that just read the threads and never post--where are you guys

after all you write it!My parents always
said don't put any thing in print you didn't the world to see

777: couldn't have agreed more--what we write is something that allows all of us to see our side sometimes someone never knows anything about--one reason again is our approaching ages and how much we can tolerate in the patience level as we get older...

I'm rather new to all this, but I've been having a great time finding the threads that pique my interest. At first I was just doing profiles, but then started checking out the chats et al. As I get familiar with the different threads, I'm seeing many folks repeatedly. And yes, that makes me curious to check out their profile to qualify what they say about themselves in relation to what is said. Now I don't go to a profile until I've seen some postings!

forgot when it's in print people used to maybe less now but print was the truth

In times past. But when a media or any thing was in print or writing it was the truth!
