I have been a captain and a first mate. I still dream of sailing off into the sunset with a co-captain and live aboard for weekends/weeks/months at a time. YOU ARE RIGHT.......WHERE ARE ALL THE MALE CAPTAINS WITH SAILBOATS ????????????? or any boat !

I love to sail and wish I could find a woman that enjoys sailing as much as I do. I am a 'died in the wool' catamaran sailor. I often dream of moving to Florida or somewhere further south. I am presently in school for a second degree and will be free to travel after graduation. There is nothing that would require me to remain in Memphis.

I have a sailboat. It's a 1980 copy of an International 21. It's light enough to be semi-planing in a good wind and small enough to trailer. The previous owner ran it over a submerged tree and did massive damage to the hull. I suppose if I hadn't bought the damaged boat it would have been scrapped.
It's a shame there aren't more sailors but low end sailboats (like the Snark) are not a very good value and better value boats run around $4,000. The only bright spot for beginning sailors is the Puddle Duck Racer. Unfortunately the plans for these are still a bit too rough for someone to build who doesn't have some boat building experience.

I have a 30'...lake Ontario on the North Shore across from Rochester, NY. Been sailing since I was 5...can sail anything. Would love to find "forever" first mate. Have an all girl crew for racing...stricktly friends...and we are winning all our local series.
But...some romantic cruising sounds nice

I've got my own Catalina 310 here in the Dallas area.(a 31' sailboat) My plans are to move it later this year to the coast and transfer to the company's Houston office. Then after a year or more of sailing up and down the coast I will head off to go where the winds will take us.
My problem is finding a lady that will hang in there with the sailing to share the love of sailing with. Yes, she's a good sized vessel (a 2 bedroom house ON the water..lol). BUT, the problem comes in when we are under way. As soon as it heels up and begins to run they do one of two things.
1)start screaming it's going to roll over....not possible.
2) grab on to something until I have fureled the sails and gotten us to the dock. At which point they get to their car and I never hear from them again...lol

I sail a Catalina 22 on Lake Mendota, Madison WI. I often look for company. If you are interested in learning how to crew or skipper, I am a former UW instructor. My only request is that you can open a bottle of wine. My only rule is that the skipper never buys.

I have a sailboat, doesnt everyone? We need a "sailing group" for real sailors, not the ones glued to a mooringball or tied to a dock. I sail mine, and dislike having to come to the hard for stuff I cant get offshore. A necessary evil I guess!
