Yes i suffer from anxiety attacks and panic attacks. it sucks. it started after the birth of my twin sons and losing the ex same time.. lost control of my life and everything went to dump. Took me a while to get handle of my life again. then gave birth to my son.. looking for toy at walmart and thought i was gonna die after not finding what i wanted. heart races, hand clammy, feeling sick to my stomach.. too many people crowding me... i gotta get out of there.. UGHHH.. thought i was gonna pass out too.. dang!
Now I am ok.. but still scared of driving, going to places, even to walmart.. LOL.. always look for excuses not going anywhere..
now going thru menopause make it worse.. it sucks...

i had minor anxiety attacks. i take ativan. and quit drinking caffeine and eating chocolate. and it really helped me. i was in bed off and on for 6 weeks when i came down off caffeine. drank 2 to 3 liters of caffeine pop daily. been caffeine clean since november 2002. and it was worth it. won't do back again.

Hi foxy and all of you newcomers.
No I haven't gone to the dr. yet about the meds.I got a little scared reading about side affects.
I HAD been doing pretty well not having alot of severe panic attacks, just a few minor ones that I was able to talk myself out of. Getting my personal relationship into a better place helped me a lot.
But looks like things are going on the fritz again, and since last night I have been panicky.
Onde again I am back to feeling like I am just tired of dealing with everything.

I have panic /anxiety disorder and have had it all my life.I hate the feeling of an attack,it is awful.
I take zoloft daily and chlozapam(klonopin) for the attacks.I sometimes can talk myself down but some come without warning and it sucks.I refuse however to not go places though I do avoid the mall or big crowds.A sense of humor has been a big help in all this.Hugs to all who struggle with this affliction. If one more person tells me its all in my head,I will scream!!!

The key, at least, for me it is, the key to beating minor anxiety and panic attacks, is to realize what is behind the reason for the panic, or the anxiety. After taking a deep, deep breath, I ask myself, "ok, what is this all about? What was I thinking just now, or an hour ago, or at some point, today, that may have caused this," or, "what had happened to me, today, that was upsetting to me, emotionally?" and usually one of the two answers to either of these questions helps me to settle down, so I can then think rationally, and move on with my day. My very first encounter with panic had been when I was a little girl, and several years had passed, before I had more issues with panic, because I had not learned the tools with which to bypass the panic, yet, so the panic had resurfaced, then, when I was 29, and I knew WHY it had resurfaced, so, it was then much easier, at that time, to diffuse the panic and move through it.
I hope that wasn't too confusing, and that it helped someone. Thank you for letting me share.

I was doing some on line research for someone who had a complete hysterectomy and was facing early menopausal issues. I discovered ALL of the symptoms I have had since the very beginning of my panic attacks are symptoms experienced when going through menopause. The timing of those events in my life make me wonder now.
I never took any meds or hrt's and any drs. I went to never brought it up.
