Everyone .... hope y'all are having a wonderful and blessed Friday.

To all our friends on the east coast, may all of you be safe in this horrible hurricane heading your way.

Photobucket

Please let us know as soon as you can that you're ok.

Luvanurse .... I agree. I don't post in that many threads anymore either. This thread, I do enjoy posting in because of the content, our Lord and God and giving praise with music is near and dear to my heart, body and soul.

I will praise Thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and will glorify Thy name for evermore. Psalm 86:12

Ice .... Isn't it amazing how certain songs talk to us? Awesome!

Jesta .... Awe, how thoughtful of you posting "Life on a Train". Such a beautiful message. And yes, many people (companions) pass through our lives and always for a reason, as I like to think, in God's purpose. Some stay but a short time. Some stay forever. My friend, you are one among many here that I hope stays forever.

In the Scripture, God, Lord Jesus Christ has many names which reveals Him in a different way. God's names represent His attributes, His nature.

O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! Psalm 8:1 (NIV)

The song below is but a few.

Wow---funny how we all find something so beautiful.
I have been worried about duplicating songs but have decided we shouldn't worry about that and should just post the one (or more) that feel special to us at the time we post it. How can we listen to Amazing Grace too many times? I don't think we can
I really am enjoying listening to the ones you guys post!

I think we are in such bad times all over the world we need to get closer to God.
I know I am a very high strung person and I worry about everything wayyy too much.
The starvation, the weather, politics, Planet X, money- etc.
I truly hope to become a Christian that puts all their concerns and worries in God's hands....I am not there yet- But every day I find more and more peace in my beliefs.

One of my most difficult things in my beliefs has been- What IF I am believing the wrong Bible? Does anyone else find this difficult? When you decide to join a church for instance. Pentecostal? Catholic? Jehovah? Lutheran? The most important decision in your life and there are so many options that make if difficult and confusing.
Or how bout this...anyone ever Pray that God speak to them and give them an answer and you 'think' you hear words that might have been God but wait-!!! Was it your subconscious? Your mind playing tricks on you? (especially if it is the answer you had wanted to hear) I find it all so confusing-yet I want to be 100% at peace with my beliefs.
Then I have all the questions...
Do Children that die young remain children in Heaven? Or do they grow up? To what age?
Why the starvation in Somalia? Do those people who never even heard of God still have a chance to go to heaven?

OK
Sorry-just wondering if any of you have these thoughts...

Good morning everyone I hope everyone is having a good week.

Jesta, want to email you but you're invisible and so am I. You're filled with questions but that's ok and there's nothing wrong with having questions. Questions are a good thing, means you're seeking answers and guidance with your personal walk with Christ. The following are my personal thoughts ..... I believe God will answer questions but in His time and for His purpose when He feels the time is right when He feels we're ready for the answer. I always have questions, as many of us may have, and most likely always will but I know some of my questions may never be answered while I walk this earth because everything happens in His plan including answers to my questions. For me and what works is .... Reading scripture first answers many of my questions. The Bible is our guidebook through life, our food, our strength, comfort, peace and fellowshipping in a very personal way with God, Lord Jesus Christ. My personal preferance is the NIV Bible (New International Version by Zondervan) because it's easy to read/understand and also a study guide. Helps a lot! I have friends who prefer the King James Bible and others. Which Bible to read is a personal choice of each individual. I also read many good Christian books which helps too. One of many that helped me a lot because I kept asking my pastor Why .... Why .... Why??? He gave me a book called .... The Purpose Driven Life, What On Earth Am I here For? By Rick Warren. WOW! Was that book ever an eye opener! Aside from the Bible first, there's many very good Christian books one can also read that will help. I have a good Christian bookstore in town and frequent it for reading material. But when I'm not sure about something or get confused, I seek guidance from my pastor who I adore. He and his family are always there for me and are awesome God loving/living people. We do live in a world that seems to have gone mad but, it is as it is to be for it is written. Just remember ..... God is in control. When things get crazy, my faith, belief, hope and trust become stronger with God, Lord Jesus Christ. I pull great comfort and strength through Him. Which church each individual attends is a personal choice as is a person's intimate walk with our Maker just as it's also a person's choice not to have an intimate walk with our Maker. To each their own choice. I have attended non-denominational churches, Espiscopalian, Lutheran, Pentecostal as a child with my grandma, was a Catholic for many years and now I am Baptist and attend a local Baptist church but this has been through my personal walk with God, Lord Jesus Christ. He has lead me through the walk with different churches/faiths. I leave it in His hands to show me the way and He has. Hang in there, you're doing fine and as you walk your personal walk with Christ, you'll discover answers coming to you and will find more peace, comfort and strength in your heart, soul and body. And if you experience what I have many times, suddenly it'll seem like the lightbulb in the basement has suddenly come on and you'll have that WOW answer from God you've been seeking. Such an awesome feeling! I love the following songs and leave them for you Jesta.

Thanks Ladybug
I need to find a church that has fellowship. And one I could have a Pastor that could help me understand my feelings and fears. I have been going to one that is like an old drive-in. It had lots of people and the messages are good but I sit alone in my car and try to figure it all out...by myself ;( You can see it on line-google drive in church Daytona Beach- they do many good things in the area but I am at the point I want to have a closer 'fellowship' and talk to others who believe!
I wish I could start Sunday school (like age 7 or 8) and start from the beginning. I hate to say this because I don't want to offend anyone but I have gone to many types of Churches in the past and the ones I really felt closer to God in were the poor Pentecost or Southern Baptist. I suppose I just have to trust that I am led to the right one...

Jesta, It would be good if others would share their experiences and feelings regarding your thoughts and feelings. I'm sure everyone has their own thoughts, feelings, experiences and perspective that might help. What I've shared with you, I speak only for myself as I am now too. As for fellowshipping with God, Lord Jesus Christ, you are doing that everytime you attend church, speak to and/or listen to a pastor, talk to/fellowship with other Christians, read/study the Bible, the life you live as God wants you to live, trials and tribulations He puts in your life which makes you who you are in His plans for you, through prayer and so many other ways. Even through the music being posted here by many. God works in mysterious ways that sometimes we don't understand and may question .... why? When we don't understand, we seek guidance and answers such as what you're doing now and that's a good thing. Yes, finding a good church with a good pastor and other Christians you can fellowship with will help you tremendously. Trying to figure it out by yourself is tough and can cause more frustration and confusion which can discourage you leading you down the wrong path. Might I suggest, and this is food for thought for you. Pray with all your heart in all earnest and sincerity for God to help you to find a church that will be good and will help you. He does hear prayers and does answer them and He will help you. You'll know it too. Meanwhile, continue attending church. And if you felt in the past closer to God at a Pentecost or Baptish church, maybe you can find one of those in your local area and attend service there. It may not be the one He wants you to attend, but He will lead you to the right church when He feels the time is right. When I changed from the church I was attending to my current church, I was going through some terrible heartbreaking times in my life. I could have easily convinced myself to turn away from God thinking how could He be so cruel and unloving as to let me experience such awful heartbreak that never seemed to end. Instead, I turned to Him. He allowed those things that hurt so bad to happen to get my attention and ask Christ into my life. It took me awhile to realize and understand that. Would I go through that awful and painful time in my life again? You bet! It brought me to Christ and that my friend is worth MORE to me than anything! I knew I so desperately needed spiritual guidance and help during that time of my life. Sad to say, the church I was attending didn't fulfill my spiritual needs at the time and that I didn't understand. But, everytime I passed the church I now attend, I kept feeling a very strong pull to that church that I couldn't figure out, it confused me. I finally went in one Wednesday evening, not knowing anyone there while many were there enjoying Bible study among many other activities going on. When I walked through the door I felt an immediate weight lifted off my shoulders, a comforting joy that's hard to explain and felt so much peace. I knew then this church is where I belonged in that season of my life. The next day I made an appointment with a pastor which turned out to be a wonderful pastor, the one I spoke of earlier. I counseled with him for a very long time, months and months and still counsel with him occasionally one on one basis and he is also a dear brother in Christ and friend. Suddenly, one day while counseling with him, that lightbulb in the basement came on, one of those awesome moments and I suddenly understood the pull I felt so strongly everytime I passed the church. God took me to that church. The strong pull I felt everytime I passed the church was God talking to me telling me that's where I belonged. Like I said, God works in mysterious ways and yes, God does talk to us. He was talking to me. I just didn't understand it at the time. We don't always hear a voice, it can be a warm and comforting feeling that comes from deep inside our being overwhelming us, a thought that suddenly comes to our mind which seems to come from nowhere, situations that occur, etc. But when He talks to you, you will know it and the outcome will be awesome. I guess you could call what I just told you, one of many testimonies I have. Just remember, leave it in God's hands. Trust and have faith in God. He WILL see you through. As for starting from an early age of 7 or 8, hey, it's NEVER too late to start! God love us and welcomes us at ALL ages. Heck, it took me over 50 years to find Him and I'm so glad I did! As for offending anyone .... the ONLY one you have to please is God, Lord Jesus Christ. And you are pleasing him in your quest for answers and finding Christ. I would also like to add .... sorry for this long post, I hope it helps you. I'm keeping you in my prayers.

excelant post ladybug on following your heart to a place of worship. I have gotten away from organized religion as God is within ourselves. one reason of breaking away and maybe an excuse is because of all my travels working 24/7.
I was raised catholic going to a perocial school (did I spell that right) I have gone to many other churches along the way. I had looked into religions of other countries while being there. They all have something but while in Saudi Arabia I found that most are a means to control the masses.
When living in NC I started going to a very small southern babtist church.. the only one where I felt that the sumon was ment for me, one that I could hear loud and clear as I'm partially deaf. I do miss that lil church. Everyone was so friendly

Great thread jest
