My personal favorite is Pemaquid Point Lighthouse you can't get any more quintessential Maine coast than there... there are picnic tables if you want them, or you can just walk on the rocks... but the sights and sounds there are amazing, and truly a hopeless romantic's dream.

There is one in Long Beach, California that has a great view of the Queen Mary, and the building that used to hold the Spruce Goose. The Queen Mary lights up at night as do the lights that line the board walk across the water. It is a really nice place to walk in the evening...

wildrose11 Springvale, ME 57, joined Oct. 2011	This is an interesting thread and would like to hear more responses. I do live in Maine and have been to a few of the lighthouses in this area. One is Cape Nedd*ck. I was a bit disappointed because the lighthouse is on a separate little island and where you are is a parking lot at the end of the point with not much room for privacy. Not romantic. I would imagine it would be better to find a lighthouse which is in or near a state park where there would be better opportunities to have a bit of space to yourselves to put a blanket down and have a picnic while enjoying the view.
