No its not asking too much... this is a free site though. The few guys I have talked to off here (most not all of them) are either just wanting some strange, are offensive, or just plain dumb. Yeah ok, Im no supermodel, but Im not gonna suffer fools either.
Mainly I stick around for the forums, if I catch someones eye or vice versa, and we can talk and be cool on a normal level, thats awesome. But until then...

I'd love to be in a relationship but the only wommen who look me up lives across the country and if you messagge someone in nj ya never hear back. As far as kids go I'm 35 I'm not naïve enough to think women at my age haven't had lives before me and like someone said if the kids like me and we can't get away without them sometimes what's the big deal.

If your relationships are like a job then that's a problem. Nobody wants to WORK to the point that a relationship feels like a second job. That's way to exhausting. N
Relationships require EFFORT not work. If at this point in life a person isn't able to just put in effort to make a relationship work then they should go back to dating 101. It's not even effort to do things you don't want to do or go places you don't want to go. It's effort to not blow up at your significant other because you're upset or to curse at them bc you're angry. It's choosing to take her to a movie instead of a bar to watch the latest sport event. It's just being a good person! The girl from this site that I'm dating now keeps telling me that I'm way to perfect and she is just waiting for me to change bc all the other guys that she has been with have taught her that theres no such thing as a guy who doesnt lose his temper or yell or curse at you. Well there are!

Not judging, 'cause let's face it...I don't know you. I might be able to answer your comment though. I think most of the people on here have been in enough relationships to know what works for them and what doesn't. It isn't necessarily a judgement of the men. You might be very nice men. It's simply the situations we refuse to have any part of. For example, my ex brought home to me the fact that I want someone stable and independent. After being with someone for 10 years and having to consistently support our family on my own while his past issues and debt prevented us from being able to have a house and properly support our children, I decided that I'm done with people who can't pull their own weight. After dealing with years of "baby-mama-drama" from his crazy ex-wife and others, I decided I want nothing to do with a man who has children that he doesn't have custody of. It creates too much strife to have someone else in the picture that can hold visitation with your children over your head. This is not a judgement of the men. This is a situation I refuse to participate in a second time.

I understand where you're coming from. I had a similar situation with the last girl that I was dating. There were similar "situations" that reminded her of her horrible past relationship and even though I handled them nothing like the way her ex did it still reminded her of her past. What can you do ya know?
