Just wondering, has anyone read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins??? E*X*C*E*L*L*E*N*T books. there are three altogether... 1.)Hunger Games... 2.)Catching Fire...3.)Mocking Jay

I read them from the Library and commented to the Librarian how excellent the books were and that they would make a gr8 movie.... He told me.. "they are..." As far as I know the movie will be out in March 2012---but READ THE BOOKS FIRST!!!! You will realize, it really could happen!!!

Oh YES! There is some intelligent life on this site after all! I love the hunger games and I really wish I had the chance to read the third one. It's been out at the libraries near me [I want to buy the box set once I read them all]but all I can find were the audiobooks which suck because I want to read it at my own [speedy] pace.

I really can't wait until the movie comes out.

I loved the first one! The second and third were good, too. When my friends described the book to me, I didn't think I would like it. But I decided to give it a try, and I'm glad that I did.

I don't like violence, but reading it wasn't so bad. I could sorta skim through those parts. I'm excited for the movie, but hoping it isn't too graphic for me.

"The Uglies" is another good book. It's also a young adult book, but I liked it. It's a series, and the first book is the best. The author is Scott Westerfeld.

Also in the same genre is The Host" by Stephenie Meyer. She wrote the Twilight series, but "The Host" is very different from Twilight. I have to warn u that it takes a few chapters to get into it. The first part of the book is confusing. But it's worth it to get past them.

I absolutely love all those books. Hungar games, the host, and uglies. If you like those you might a new book called delirium by Lauren Oliver it's kinda about trying to defeat a different kind of system! It was great. also you might like the midnighters I'm not quite sure who wrote that though

Oh I read Uglies series back in high school. It was great. And I agree about the host. It took a while for me to really get into it. I think Meyer should stick to sci-fi because she did really well with it.

Delirium its great read! Loved It - I'm a big ya novel junkie...

Also
•The Hush, Hush Saga by Becca Fitzpatrick
•The Immmortal Series by Alyson Noel
•The Wolves of Mercy Falls by Maggie Stiefvater

Are also great series to follow...

I haven't read the latest hush hush book. ): My mom bought me the 2nd book for my 19th birthday.

Has anyone read the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clay? Excellent series.

Getting out the supernatural/fantasy, Little Brother by Cory Doctrow is a GREAT book and it's more into hacker vs government kind of thing. I really loved it and learned a lot from it too. Also, check out Ender's Shadow when you get the chance if you love Hunger Games. Not sure on the author though.

A bit for older audiences but just as good is The Black Dagger Brotherhood series by JR Ward. Sweet Ra, the men in that series are GREAT and sexy and *wipes drool*
Same for the Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. What I love about both series are that the women aren't weak little things for the men to play with. They have guts and don't take shit from them or anyone else.

I have more but I am already WAAAAAY off topic. XD

I haven't read Enders's Shadow, but I've heard of the series.
The author is Orson Scott Card.

right. It's actually a companion piece to Ender's Game but I couldn't get into Ender's Game like I could Ender's Shadow. The main character for the latter is more of super genius loner while the former is a hero groomed to succeed so...yeah. I relate more to the loner even if there were whole PAGES of stuff he said or thought that I didn't quite get due to terminology.

I am a huge Hunger Games fan, a great break from the vampire novels that have mainstreamed lately... not that they're bad, I love me some fangs but after one too many a change is in order. Anyway, brilliant plot, creative settings, compelling characters... simply amazing! Hopefully the upcoming novels pulls it off.

These were probibly the best I've read all year.. I have a feeling though I'm gonna have lord of the rings part 1 de ja vu wen I go see part 2 and I can only immagine part 3 is gonna be 2 movies.. I want to see the lizard mutts bad.. I thought the whole time through part 3 where snow leaves the rose in her house that the cat was a mutt.. I really wished though that the author had built up a few more books before katnip.. I want to read a book bout haymitch in the arena.. Coulda been a lot longer IMO..
