I love that you play in a bagpipe band!
When I lived in the Maryland/D.C. area, I would go to the Scottish Highland games - see all the big burly men do the caber toss and listen to the bands, etc.
And I've had the priviledge of being a guest at the formal Navy celebration where the "Pipe In" the Hagis.
Got to admit, though, it doesn't take long for the bagpipes to become a strain on my ears.
So - now to the real question -- what do they wear under the kilt?

You guys are funny! As to what we wear under those kilts- I'll just leave that up to your imagination!
Cass- The sound of pipes never get old to me! We have a Scottish Games right here in Ohio, in Wellington- not far from you. Bear came last year, you should come too!
The VIP party was last night- wow- was very loud, and very crowded- but it was fun! Open to the public tomorrow. The female servers wear these skimpy little tartan kilt outfits, and the male servers all wear kilts- nothing sexier than a man in a kilt!

hehehehehe --- I bet you should have mentioned what the servers will be wearing sooner. I bet you would have gotten a lot of takers on the invite. Just watch out who shows up now

I didn't know about the Games around here. If I'm still in the area next year, I'll have to be sure and attend!

The Grand Opening last night was better than the Private VIP night. Not as crowded, not as crazy, and not quite as loud. Got a chance to look at the menu- a little pricy. When I go to a sports bar I want be be able to hear the game, and afford to eat! Met an ex NFL player-Philadelphia Eagles there (a long time ago- he was 70) He is also a Vietnam vet- was wearing his Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Had a more enjoyable evening talking to him, and listening to his stories, than the whole spots bar/kilt girl thing!

Phina- I upload them to Photobucket, them paste the code on here- I didn't see anywhere to re-size them. If there's a way to do that, let me know!

food sucked, service suck, girls were below average, place won't last long especially when the girls that help train the local girls leave.

jb- I have to agree that it probably won't last. The two nights we played there was more that enough for me. It was too loud, and the little bit we ate wasn't that great. It's advertized as a sports bar, but it's to big and too loud for a sports bar. (IMO) They wouldn't let the band sit at a table,we had to stand around all night because as they said "you're not paying customers". Well- excuse me, but the band played both nights for free, and most of us drove over an hour to get there, you'd think they would have at least given up a table in the corner or something. Looking around, I did see a lot of unhappy customers because of wait time for food orders. I do have to say- all the girls and guys that were serving were very nice. But...I think it's a novelty thing that will wear off soon.

I have been to the Columbus one by Polaris twice for lunch. The first time they had been open a few weeks or so and they were reasonably busy. They took over the Cheeseburger in Paradise that was there before. There was a Hooters next door and that also closed. So the first time we went it was reasonably busy and had good food and decent service.

Client took me there a few weeks ago. Server was very nice and food was still pretty good, but yes, a bit pricey. Figure $1-2 more for a sandwich and fries than other places. However, the place was not very busy, so if they are relying on lunch business they are in trouble. And if they want to be a sports bar, the one in Columbus needs better sightlines to the TVs and bigger screens.
