I know. Call me a scared ass coward. Thats ok. Im just worried about having heart surgery done in a couple of weeks. Im to young for this but it has to be done. Everyday I keep thinking why is God punishing me? Some days I wish I was dead an wouldnt have to go through with this. I dont want to have it done. I just sit back an cry like a little kid, worried if im ever going to make it through this. Please help me out.

Awww sweety...no sin in being scared. One of my worst fears is being under the knife. I have an enlarged heart, my brother at 42 had heart surgery, so yes it scares the living hell out of me. He made it through by the way, with flying colors and he is a heavy smoker. You will do just fine. Believe in God...pray, sincerely...he does answer prayers. I think you need one of these....

Well my brother had his aorta replaced at age 38,,,,,,so I understand how you feel,,,but you shouldn't feel so down about it,,I know easier said than done,,but you have to go in there with a positive attitude and it will all go great,,,just sit back and think this won't be so bad and you will do just fine

bj, when is the surgery? Do you have family where you're at? It must be hard what you're going through yet you have to remember its being done to help you. Hang in there bj.

Thank you all for the responses. It means alot to me to know that there are true freinds out there who care. Even though I dont know any of you, like I would like to, I consider you all freinds. Foxy, to answer your question, no, I dont have any family here in Mich. My parents kicked me out when I was 16 down in Tennessee because I wouldnt follow their religion. Ive been on my own since then. I had to struggle most of my days to get by. The good thing is I did stay in school an garduated.Thanks again.

Hang in there BJ. I too had to face heart surgery at a very young age and it's not something that's easy to deal with. Go into this knowing that the good thing is they have found a problem and can fix it before it causes more issues for you. Being frightened is a very normal emotion, because you realize this is your heart...one of your major organs. The other bright spot to think about is once they fix you, you should be good as new and will probably feel much better physically. I'm not sure what procedure you are having done, I may have missed it when I was reading the posts, but rest assured those doctors in this line of work are on top of their game and know what they are doing. I'll keep you in my thoughts and wish you a speedy recovery.

BJ, God is not punishing you because of your heart problem. Don't even think it  .
He will see you through & be with those that will be surrounding you during the entire process and even laying His hand on those around that table that you'll be on and make very sure that nothing malfunctions.
You most likely have lots of friends already praying those heartfelt prayers like this
fellow typing here. Just remember to keep a big and stiff upper neck or jaw about the whole thing and don't even think about hose negative things or thoughts.
God has bigger and better plans for you God would never let anything go wrong. He and will always be right by your side You will be just fine and very well taken care of, for that I am sure.

Other than my kids I too am alone without other family.
It's so hard at times I know..please know I will be thinking of you as I am sure others will to.

Thank you so much for the encouragement. You all mean alot to me even though I dont know you. I guess its good to know that there are people out there that do care for those who are in need of something an not just blown off like a feather in the wind. Every time I read these posts I get tears in my eyes because you all care and some of you have been through what Im about to go through. Ill be coming on here everyday to chat with you all until I have this done. Thanks again. LOVE YOU ALL!!!!

When are you having your surgery? I'll make a note on my calender and pray for you and keep you in my thoughts that whole day .....before and after too! Once you get over the discomfort and all of surgery, you'll probably be so proud you had it done. Like one of the members said...at least they found out what it is and can fix it. So many people just aren't that lucky! Hang in there and think positive!! It takes a pretty strong guy to admit you're scared and ask for support. That speaks volumes about your character! We're pulling for you!
