I carve exotic wood walking canes, and staffs. I've made the short walking canes for elderly who have had hip, and knee replacements for free for 5 years now. I get large money for my bear canes, and large walking staffs. I cut, and peel, and dry my wood from my world travels. I inlay knotholes with mother of pearl, abalone, deer, and elk antlers. I inlay with pink flint, raw emeralds, and even diamonds. I make my own grips out of braided elk, deer, steerhide, and dogleather for ginseng hunters. I braid, and tint my bindings out of cotton, hemp, horsehair, and llama hair. And then I tint the wood with natural oils to any color of the rainbow. And then I put 3 to 30 coats of handrubbed natural lacquers on~ either nitrocellulose, or sucrose lacquer. Works of love, and art. Pics on profile.

My new hobbies have been: quilting, making decorative bottles with lights inside, and making decorative letters. My next project is making a jewelry holder out of a piece of wood and cabinet knobs.

With my exotic cane carving...I never know what I will get into. Everyone says I should try to carve ironwood. Well I rarely get to where the hard ironwood grows~ desert ironwood in arizona, or sasche ironwood in kansas. Tuesday was trekking flint hills national preserve in south kansas, and scored 2 beautiful pieces of ironwood to take home. Unbelievable hardwood. I dulled 2 knives removing the bark, and skinning just one cane. Its very heavy, and dense. I have insane plans to do ojibwa mosaics with different colored wood scraps into carved patterns into the cane. The second raw cane I'm giving to a freind neighbor of mine who also carves canes, and is always looking for raw exotic woods to carve on. His days are numbered, for he's dying of the big C...prostate. He lights up inside with every new piece I bring him. Its the least I can do. All good.

I found a piece of wood while pruning some oleander and am hoping to barter. It is interesting for its shape.

It almost reminds me of a "curly" pencil and could be painted that way; or whatever else comes to mind.

Hi all. I do leather sculpture and clay sculpture. Also do beaded hat bands and belts. My newest adventure is clay and wire earings. Not just beads but truly one of kind designs. I will be putting them up on Etsy as soon as I get a new camera.

I like to design jewerly. I work with beads and such but lately I have been making leather necklaces, and rings from recycled antique buttons and beads. I'm also starting to pull apart clothes and reconstruct into new designs with my sewing machine. I got this cool book about all these ways you can redesign a t shirt and collecting my t shirts to get ready for that. I have some screen printing supplies and embellishing stuff but I haven't ever tried it before.

Are there any knitters around. A wonderful hobby that can be practical as well as beautiful. I make sweaters, afghans, and baby blankets. Then during the summer when you don't want a large project to cover your lap try socks, mittens, scarfs, or toys for the grand kids. The types and colors of yarn available now are wonderful. if you are thinking of wool only look around. products made from bamboo, milk protein, corn, cotton rayon, nylon acrylic and beyond are to be had in the most beautiful textures and colors. I do beading. I would like to learn how to crochet scarves. I guess I need to just go for it and know the first one will be interesting.
I will be making some mosiacs for family. Want to also explore aromatherapy again as well as other things I dropped. I was a very creative and energetic woman until one relationship made me feel like I was an eyes of a stranger. I lost a lot. I am healed and experiencing life with greater appreciation.

I dont do alot in the drawing range anymore. My craft is more beading, chain & lanyard making, paracord & creative knot tying, I make rosaries, earrings, dreamcatchers. Theres probably a few other things in there, but I dont really do them enough th make them currently noteworthy.

Triple blown glass pipes are pretty cool I also saw a youtube video of how glass marbles are made by hand.

I am into container gardening and producing flowers. I am also into growing herbs.

I hope to barter into a used expresso machine for use with herbal teas to not need to use the coffee machine with herbal tonics.
