Any Ken Follett books...have read them all since I read Pillars of the Earth in the mid 80's. He has wide reaching themes from WWII spy to historically based to modern. Preston and Child, especially the books with Pendergast character, Lisa See for insight into Chinese culture and history....oh, yes...I am a very eclectic reader!

Right now I'm re-reading "Treasure Island", a book I read in the fifth grade. It's a good story for children but actually is a good story for adults, too. Stevenson knew how to tell a good tale and how to use, but not overuse, elegant language.

My favorite book is Sunshine by Robin McKinley. It's about vampires but so very opposite of Twilight. It has a few flaws but is wonderful overall.

My two favorite books are life of pie, and water for elephants. Both r goodreads for man or woman. Highly recommend both! The first quarter of life of pie is boring but then it will be the best book u ever read. Do not see either movie.
