I graduated this past Feburary with a BS in Business Management, it was the greatest sense of accomplishment I have felt in a long time. My daughter who is 13 is now talking about wanting to go to college when she finishes with school. I secured a Management training position and started the next day. Don't give up it is worth it in the end.

I am a single mom of 5. I have worked part time and full time and gone to school. I went to some classes on campus and a great many classes were done on line. I have my assoicates degree (yes, it took twice as long because I could only take 3 classes at a time) and will be going back in the fall for my BA. It is not easy but it can be done. Two of my children have grown up and moved out on their own during this time. But all of my chidren (all boys) have told me how proud they are and I have showed them tenacity and perserverance. Two of them have pledged to go to college themselves. It takes patience, some time, a structured life and focus. During winter and spring breaks.....I played and did not open a text book. Like my grandmother told me as a child, "Can't never could do anything" Hang in there everyone, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
PS
In our family, Sunday was family time...no homework and just time to reconnect and do things together.

All I can say is hang in there. I went to college when I was in my 20s and didn't finish. Took my children to work with me. And when my youngest graduated high school I went back to college and now I will be graduating July 11th. I am so proud of myself. It was one of the hardest things I have done in my life and yes I would do it over again. It is all worth it. If you have questions about somehome work give one of us a holler maybe we can help you. Just a thought.Good luck to you

I give kudos to all of u going back to school and being a single parent. When I married my ex, I supported him through school. Our master plan was for him to get his degrees, then I could quit work and be a stay at home mom. I was the only one working for 6 yrs for him to get his BS. He got a job, but not making nearly enough for me to quit, and a year after he started working, he left me for a co-worker. So now I am left with being a single mom and no education but a HS dimploma. I also struggle w/ ADD. I find it hard enough to get the house clean and raising children. I am soooooo scared to go back to school, but I have filled out the paper work for financial aid and in the process of getting my HS transcripts sent to the local college. So I am on the road to go back to school. I do not have a support system, my ex helps out when he feels like it and as long as it does not interfere w/ his personal life. It all seems very overwhelming, and just want to cry sometimes.

I am a single mom and I too am going back to school, it is very hard but I know it will be rewarding in the end. I am taking classes online so I do not have to leave the house which is a plus, I tried going to the community college but that was hard working all day and only spending like an hour with the kids before I had to leave for school and then come homw and they were in bed. So, I am happy I found the online school because it is such a nice fit to my life.

I am a single parent too going to school. It is hard. Grandma is a huge help. Most times when people find out your trying to become a better provider for your children or just better yourself they might want to help out a little more than if you were just waiting tables or working at a gas station. Good luck
