I'm an aspiring young author with what I think may be a swell idea. But then again, maybe that's just me being partial to my own work... Please tell me what you think!
The book is in diary format and opens with something like this:
"December 25, 2011
I got a diary thing for Christmas this year… obviously. Also, I got like ten trillion tons of iTunes. I got some tight jams like Woods and The Black Keys. I haven’t heard from Gary since December 11 because he’s with his brother or something… The waiting is murderous! So, right now, I’m listening to “September With Pete” which is groovy on its own, but even groovier on my new head phones that I got from Aunt Lynn. I suck at this diary writing deal. I suppose I’ll have to work on that, no? Is there anything more for me to say? Hmmm. Ramble on as I might, I’m wasting paper. Why am I still writing? I really need to stop wri

In short, the main character decides that she's had it with her life, and she jumps from the car on a dark night. She disappears into thick woods. She writes in the diary, logging her adventures which are described in a heart-breakingly personal way that really puts the reader inside the girl's mind.
This may be a little too close to Go Ask Alice which just happens to be my favorite book. This may be a terribly ridiculous idea. I'm not sure, so I'm asking you!

If the story is compelling, people will read it, and I have to admit that this one intrigues me.
If you haven't already done so, you might want to post this in the Writers forum. Lots of people to get some advice from there as well.
