Red Dobermans
One of the best dogs I ever owned was a red Doberman. That was 25 years ago. I loved that dog. He wsd so beautiful and smart. The only reason I say "one of" is that one of the dogs I have now, (an Australian Shepherd) is equally as smart.
To answer the question, I like all breeds and mixes.

I always scratch my head at people who come in a thread like this and say "a rescue", because you can find purebred dogs of every imaginable breed in rescues.
So why not name a breed?
FTR- There are several of us who rescue. I have several "rescue" dogs- One is a "designer mix" the rest are purebreds.
Breeds- I love all of them- my favorite would be a red/rust Doberman Pinscher.

It's because your dogs knew you rescued them, and you probably spent more time working with your dogs then they did.

I currently am fosterless for another couple weeks until my Dakota feels better. My last two came from Gwinnett County Ga Animal Control. It was shut down two nights ago due to a mysterious illness that my boy showed signs of. He is fine but until he finishes the antibiotics I will not expose another to him.

I knew yours were and almost said that in the post you quoted. I love your babies.
Most of mine are rescues, too.
Here's one of our stories:
I fostered, and then adopted our white Boxer. The warden was called out to pick this dog up because her owners were evicted, and they had moved off and left her behind, and tied in the yard. The landlord called the warden, and he picked her up. I happened to stop by the day she had been picked up, and didn't see her when I went into the shelter. When I came out and was walking to my car, she met me at the fence, so I went back and asked her story. He told me the situation, and I told him I wanted to adopt her. But since the owners didn't surrender her, by Ohio law, there was a hold time, for them to reclaim her (which I thought was crazy, because they abandoned her. He told me to come back the next business day (it was the weekend). So I did, and he said he still had to hold her for so long- I asked what if I foster her, and he said "You can take her now". So I put a call in to my vet, and he agreed to wait for me. He was amazed at the dog. She was filthy, but still very pretty. He checked her over- I asked her age, he checked her teeth and said 18 months (but she'd already been bred at some point). As soon as her hold time was up- I adopted her.

I do not blame you for being extra precautionary with your babies. I had also hard their is a dog flu going around, and it has been fatal to some. So safe is best. I hope all will be OK, and I look forward to seeing more pictures of them.

What a beautiful pup!!!
Dakota is fine. They determined the illness was pneumonia. They started all there fogs on the treatment I alread did.
I just do not want to expose another to Dakota until he has finished the antibiotics. My boys are very thing to me!!

I have a 95 lb Pit -Doberman mix and a 55lb AmStaff. I love the pits..but mostly favor big dogs German Shepherds are another favorite breed.

Std. Poodles. They ARE NOT foofoo dogs contrary to their appearance. Very intellegent, great watch dogs, can be used for hunting, even use as therapy/nursing home dogs.
I love all animals. I do favor Standards. I have 2 and they are therapy dogs at the hospital. This is a photo of the two of them at the hospital taken on St. Patricks day at the hospital. The green is chalk and shampoos right out. I love my babies.

It's because your dogs knew you rescued them, and you probably spent more time working with your dogs then they did.
Most were rescued from peoples homes who did not realize how hyper and active a breed they were, and yes did run them with my bicycle almost every day, and had many feeders out to keep quail around to work them on.

There are very few breeds that I don't like. My very favorites are working and herding breeds; such as Dobermans, Rottweilers, Malinois, Belgian Shepherds (working breeds), Collies, Border Collies and Australian Shepherds (herding breeds).

English bulldogs now that I'm older seems to be a good pet for me. I need a pet that is docile and affectionate. One that I can walk without difficulty. The smaller dogs seem to get under foot and pose as a tripping hazard. The community I live in allows smaller pets and older poodle dogs also seem like a good type.

I have a rat terrier.
Great dog.
Small. Cute.
Very alert smart and trainable.
Great and I mean great watch dogs.
Very healthy breed too.
Long life span. 18 to 22 years.
Sheds but not a lot.
Funny little dogs too.
Talkative, howlers who love to burrow under the covers.
Versatile too.
Great city dogs for elderly apartment dwellers.
But you can also train them as hunting dogs.
Great for pest control around the farm, or in the city.
Mice will pack their bags or die with one of these little characters around.
I cant say enough about them.
They are way better than Jack Russels.
Not as hyper.
But real terrier personalities.
Just calmer.
I love mine.
His name is Scout.
The first time I saw him at the breeders home he was straddleing his little brothers back and chewing on his ear.
I asked for the little bully.
She picked him up and he has been mine ever since.
