I wish people didn't judge me based on my race, sometimes it's so hard to remove all of these assumptions about me based on the fact that I'm black. Most think I'm this ghetto, super-christian, hip hop, idiot because that's what they expect because I'm black but I'm not like that! I love rock music and country and I'm an atheist, and I get straight A's, and grew up in the suburbs. It's just really frustrating when the guys I'm attracted to (rockers, skaters, gamers, etc.) don't take one look at me but ghetto guys message me all day (I'm not saying they're ghetto because they're black but because they are ghetto). Geez take one look at my hair and you can tell I'm different(because it's PURPLE!!!!)....

I don't understand it.I'm listed as athiest on my profile just big as day. but they just keep on coming.I'm starting to think they are from another country and are trying to scam. 3. They don't know what Atheist means.

Living in the south isn't helping you either. If you lived in like ny or seattle the skaters would be lining up at your front door.
he has a good point. The area you live in has a big impact on that. Especially va. Used to live there.. In va that is. You sound like a really cool girl though. You'll meet mr right someday. Just never settle for mr right-now.

Thanks guys I think I see a move up north in my future lol. I didn't think that living in Virginia would make that much of a difference because I live in the northern area close to Washington D.C. but geez everyone here is so judgmental and close minded. Have you tried the Atheist groups in your area? I posted a list of all the groups in the 50 states.

To me, getting together to discuss something that obviously doesn't exist just seems kind of... stupid. I know Santa isn't real either yet I don't need to meet with other people who don't believe in him. I envision atheist meetings going something like this:
"You still don't believe in God, right? Cool, me neither."
End of meeting.

People are f**king morons. That's all there really is to it. Unfortunately a very large percentage of the population have never been taught how to use their brains and think for themselves.
Im attracted to goth/punk chicks with crazy tattoos and piercings. But unfortunately for me, I am never going to have one approach me. But you can't expect people to know who you are as a person. You can't wait and expect results. If you want something, take it. Confidence in yourself is the true key to success in this world. If you are confident, everything else will follow.

Don't feel bad. I always got the same crap because I had in my profile that I'm half Puerto Rican. I think a good 70% of the messages I got contained the word "mami."
I just didn't respond to them because it wasn't what I was looking for and didn't feel the need to start an argument or insult them by flat out saying that I'm not interested.

It's a good place just to socialize and make new friends too. We don't really have much "formality" in our meetups. We did get to hear a former West Point cadet talk about trying to get equal treatment for atheists in the academy a few nights ago (and he did help bring about changes). Next Sunday a member is hosting a superbowl party at their home. I don't care for pro ball but I may go just to enjoy the company....

I think the simple answer is that many of them aren't very bright 
look at their profiles, poor grammer, misspellings etc.....
They just don't get it.....
