I challenge anyone to go to a legitimate dating site from another country and do a very general search. 20-45 female
Russia, Poland, Argentina, Hungary, Austria, Romania (omg romania! drools..), Columbia, Italy..whatever. USA doesnt compete anymore. (and I was curious, did general search on men too and the same applied)
If Americans put forth 1/2 the effort people in other countries do then maybe we would have a true claim to #1
I was really surprised to see how much more 'put together' the average global citizen looks in their dating profiles than we do. (3rd world nations aside of course)

I am not talking just about weight - thats obvious.
But seems we have gotten a bit too casual..our profile photos are largely amaturish and arent capturing us at our best. We wear pajamas and take self portaits in dirty bathrooms. Other people in the world put on their best outfits and get photos taken at the park with friend and a real camera (not a cell phone)
We lost so much of our elegance and formality in our culture..too much now that I have seen all that.

And it made me sad...to see on these foreign sites almost ALL men dressed sharp and tasteful, and almost ALL the ladies elegant and feminine. It shows respect for yourself and others, it certainly gotta help with the whole romance thing.
I have to admit, I feel a bit jealous. I dont believe in long distance relationships and it seems the global dating pool puts ours to embarassing shame.

The grass is always greener on the other side. What you've seen may just be a different approach to dating or a totally different social structure than there is here in the US of A.
Also, think there may be a greater digital divide in other countries in that the "lower class" or normal ( not low class or no class) ppl don't have access to the internet at the same rate that we do. It they chose to use it differently. There are so many variables that could be considered as explanation for what you saw.
