I love Harry Potter! My son got me into the books around the time the second movie was in theaters. I didn't want to read them but once I read the first one I was hooked. I read all 5 that were out in 5 days. I hated waiting for the new ones to come out, it was a fight with my son who got to read them first!!!!!!

I love Harry Potter! My son got me into the books around the time the second movie was in theaters. I didn't want to read them but once I read the first one I was hooked. His eyes got tired and I took over and was reading it to him- during the fight when Kreacher was leading the house elves during the battle of Hogwarts. Of course then I had to read them all!
I may catch a lot of guff about this post, because I am a Christian. But I see the Harry Potter series as no different then fairy tale. I loved the books!!

Im with you there Reese i am also a christian and a Harry Potter fan. I didnt read the books until i actually had seen the first four movies and totally enjoyed each.
I view the books and movies as fiction and entertainment, they mean nothing more if you dont put more into it than that.

Im a huge Harry Potter fan.
Very few writers have shown the same talent that J.K. Rowling did with that series.
Not just in her ability to let the characters grow, remain true to their original selves but also in making the younger readers take delight in growing with them!
The first book was definately a young adult book, but by the last book her readers were reading at an adult level.
The way her style and technique with the characters developed over the years still amazes me!

Quoted for truth. Book has much more detail, expectedly than the movies. I still want ot see the Half-Blood Prince and the Deathly Hallows movies though......gamer

I've been a Harry Potter fan ever since I was little (since the first book). Harry Potter is our past, present, and future (quoting Tom Marvolo Riddle but you know what I mean). I've read all the books (except the last one because I haven't had time to read it) and I've seen all the films. It is well written and very enjoyable. I like it a lot. Being a Ravenclaw (by personality and Pottermore), reading/learning is essential. I'd love to re-read the series again and I'm halfway through J.K.'s new book (which is very good, by the way). It's called The Casual Vacancy. I like it, even though it is aimed towards adults (maybe young adults), it's still good. It's nothing like Harry Potter though when I read it, I kind of make some references.

I have read the whole series but have not seen all the movies. Her new book was good but not as good as her Harry Potter series but no one can keep up they kind of writing to make everyone happy. She will write another award winner I'm sure though some did not appreciate Casual Vacancy for what it was but I did.

Oh, I love Harry Potter. I've been obsessed with those books since the beginning. Jo is the Mistress of Foreshadowing. It was so awesome that one little mention of someone/thing in a book became a whole new book later in the series. I can always re-read those books, they never bore me. The movies are great too, but the book is almost always better than its movie.

I am huge Harry Potter fan. I have been reading the books since I was eight years old. I have read the whole series at least 15 times all the way through. I advidly watch the movies in marathons. J.K. is a genius, and it is a shame that the series came to an end.

I know I'm way behind, but these books have finally made it into my "to read" pile.
I've seen all of the movies, and they were good, but I've never gotten around to reading the books, although several people have said that I should.
Last week, I picked up several books at a used book store, and one of them was Sorcerer's Stone, so I'm going to give it a try.
