In answer to your question,check this out 5 lbs. of fat is much bulkier(about 60% more) than the 5 lbs. of muscle, but five pounds is still five pounds. Muscle does not weigh more than fat.
Fat is bulky and lumpy so if you carry an extra five pounds of fat, you'll be lumpier than with five pounds more muscle. I eat like a 1000LB horse but I don't eat a lot at one time I stay active. Water water water and more water. Eggs r fatening salad is good u need fiber and protein lil carbs. And fast walks or sprints r way more effective than long a** walks. Good luck

You may not be eating enough calories for your body to function which forces it to retain all of the fat it can.

Try using a a lot ur counting website or app like My Net Diary. It won't help with what you should eat (as fat as menu items) but it will give good guidelines of the calories your body needs for vital functions (basal calories) and how many you should calories you should cut by diet and exercise.

There were some other great suggestions. Add protein to your diet. Make sure that you are cutting fat. Try using egg beaters for your omelet rather than eggs bc they are fattening and high in cholesterol. Drink TONS of water. And also add fat free yogurt or skim/low fat milk to your diet daily. Dairy helps to move fat and toxins out of your body...

Also make sure that your Cardio/aerobic workouts are getting your heart rate up to a rate that will help you burn fat. Be sure to incorporate strength training but give your body a break or work on different parts different days bc your muscles need time to repair.

These are just a few things I've picked up and found to work for me. I've lost 35 lbs since June.

I agree with the poster that suggested you may not be getting in enough calories which can cause your metabolism to slow down. Weight watchers has a plan called the "Wendie" plan which involves eating a different number of calories each day. It could also be that you need to change up your workout regiment. Do you do the same exercises each time?

By the way, eggs are actually a good source of protein especially the whites. Some other good choices are cottage cheese, greek yogurt, milk, and grilled chicken.

eggs provide 9 essential amino acids our bodies cant produce, so i eat eggs frewuently. The majority of calories in vegetables is fat calories but a different kind of fat, so it affects weight less. If nothing is working, something has to change. Skip the omelette, switch it for fruit or grains, just make changes in your intake and exercise. When you see improvement go in that direction. But it wont happen over days.

Fruit and grains are sugar. Sugar= lnsulin = fat storage. Any kind of grain will cause fat storage. Invrease your intake of fatty meats, real butter and stop eating fake foods that come from a chemical plant. you'll stop javing cravings and stop the insulin rollercoaster you are on. If you truly want to loose weight stop exercising. Exercise makea you eat more.

I have lost 80 pounds since January..
I lift weights daily as weight lifting keeps burning calories even after you stop the exercise.. I am a runner and run at least 3 miles 5 times a week. It is not a fast run but it gets my heart rate up, that is the important thing.

I changed my life style.. I don't consider myself on a diet as I eat what I feel like my body wants or needs. I only consume whole grains and lean meats. I cut out pork and beef as neither one of them digest well in my body but I am not saying anyone else has to do the same..

Here is what I think about my body...
If you really think about it we were designed to walk, run or move on our own, we were not designed to use other means of transportation. I realize that in today's world it is not possible to go without other means, however our bodies need to move, they need certain vitamins and minerals, they need protein and amino acids. Treat your body as the machine it is.. put into it the fuel it requires and leave out the junk.. make sure it has the nutrients that will make it move and then move it.. My thoughts for the day.

I have been really working on this for about 2 years and have lost 130 pounds total..

this ^worked for me i lost 30pds last yr by cutting out bread and starches out 97% for 2-3 months .(..whenever i add more bread products i gain,) i had tuna or chicken and salad everyday with hot chocolate for dessert.........then added a slice of bread once i lost the weight....

I have 76 pounds since March 29th of this year! You 1st need to go to the doctors... have your thyroid your stomach checked for a hurnia n yoyr blood levels. I found out I had a hernia inside my stomach that was preventing me from losing weight. when I had the surgery to repair it I decided that date my life is going to change for the better. I begin eating things in high in protein and low in calories in sugar. No soda nothing but water, crystal light and diet cranberry juice. Everything I buy that has sugar in it; has to be lower than a double digit, like 9 grams or lower. The Portis you eat is the key... I eat a cup of food each meal!.... I also walk everyday as my exercise.

Thank god you said it. It's all about the nasty grains, especially wheat. Cut that out and you'll stop having a lot of problems in general. My ravenous appetite dissipated and I'm smaller than I was in high school. Still getting smaller.

Do your own research. Lots of research. My suggestion to you: read up on alkalizing the body. Dr. Robert O. Young, The Ph Miracle Program. Watch all the youtubes on alkalizing the body, esp. " Dr. Young On the Importance of Juicing ". Read all you can on raw foods. Read all you can on colon health. Dr. Bernard Jensen, etc. This info is seriously, seriously good stuff. Read up on organic foods, etc. It can get over-whelming weeding out the hype, but at the end of the day, I believe Dr. Robert O. Young has pretty much laid out best protocol for enduring, good health. Get rid of highly processed foods. They don't help one single bit! You could try adding high protein snacks as well as extra protein to your salads. Don't drink pop, juice, etc. even diet/light because chemicals and sugars will mess with weight loss. Also, if the shape is changing and your size is decreasing it's probably because your body is converting fat to muscle which is more compact.

You see changes, and thats what matters. You're most likely burning your fat and gaining muscle, which burns more fat.

Love this! Inches and size are far better indicators than weight. I know that for me personally when I weigh about 170 I wear a dress size 6. On the other hand I have friends who weigh that and wear a size 12. There are countless variables!

The best way I gave found to take off pounds is low carbs. My Dr. Said no more then 40 carbs a day n I will allow myself one day a week to cheat. That's okay because not only do you fill your need to be bad, lol, you are also allowing your body to feel like nothing is being neglected. I have lost up to 50lbs within 3 to 4 months doing this.

You have to watch low-fat foods, most will have added carbs =(
You have to watch low-carb foods doubly, not only are the chemicals bad for you, but in most cases, the sweet taste on the tongue is enough to trigger insulin response. This is a double-whammy of it's own when you haven't consumed any sugar as your blood sugar will then dip low enough to trigger even more cravings! Eggs are a good source of fats and proteins, salads are great for fiber, but look closely at your dressings and toppings.
Also, i've found 3 meals daily to be completely impossible to manage. I have to have at least 5 to keep my sugar stable and cravings under control

Go with more protein and I was told recently to do light weight training to help burn the fat and build muscle at the same time. Cardio will not help you lose weight per a trainer that I have talked to but do but do doing it just add in weight training into your exercise routine.

How much weight are you trying to lose? A reasonable goal would be try to lose 1.5 to 2 pounds a week.

For weight loss you have to consider your total daily calorie intake, your sodium intake, and your water intake.

How many calories are you consuming everyday total from your foods and drinks?

And, are you taking in too much sodium (causing water retention) and not drinking enough water (which also causes water retention and constipation)? Just some things to look at and think about.

This.

Along with healthier eating, rebuilding muscle lost through weight loss stimulates the body to burn calories AROUND THE CLOCK. On the other hand, do an hour of cardio and you may only burn a donut's worth of calories. Except, the weight training shouldn't be light dumbbells, it should be moderately heavy ones(for you). Light ones are almost like no weight at all - you won't get much benefit from that. There's a female poster on page 2 who weight trained and lost weight.

Cardio doesn't burn many calories because, as it's name refers to, is for CARDIO-VASCULAR health, not for great calorie burning.

I am doing the same but not eating the yolks, no croutons, any dressing w dairy in it, & I add these onto my salads & my other veg plates:
- Chia Seeds
- wheat germ
- quiona (I think that's how its spelled)
I have been doing this for months until last week - I was on vacation & had my period! I am a hot mess but walked 5 miles yesterday & 3 today.

DO you have any bad habbits? Do you go out drinking with your friends on the weekends? This was one of mine,. it's been about a month and 1/2 since i quit drinking and I've lost about 20 lbs. Alcohol is empty calories that turn straight into fat. The only way to get rid of it is to burn it off, so working out hard all week, dieting harcore, then getting hammered is like taking 1 step forward 2 steps back when dieting. Also, do you have any health problems? My mother has a bad thyroid problem so it takes her forever to lose weight.

There are a lot of posts and I've not read through them all, but you need to get your metabolism running continually, and a great way is to eat 300 calories every 3 hours. Increase your protein - with a powder supplement - at every meal and reduce the fat and the low quality carbs. Cut out all snack foods and sugary items. Be disciplined about it and you will notice loss. Give it time.

When you have dropped a significant amount of weight, then start hitting the gym.
