So I wanted to share a spectacular speech by former Colorado Governor Richard Lamm. Thoughts? I have a secret plan to destroy America. If you believe, as many do, that America is too smug, too white bread, too self-satisfied, too rich, let’s destroy America. It is not that hard to do. History shows that nations are more fragile than their citizens think. No nation in history has survived the ravages of time. Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and they all fall, and that “an autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit suicide.” Here is my plan: We must first make America a bilingual-bicultural country. History shows, in my opinion, that no nation can survive the tension, conflict and antagonism of two competing languages and cultures. It is a blessing for an individual to be bilingual; it is a curse for a society to be bilingual. One scholar, Seymour Martin Lipset, put it this way: “The histories of bilingual and bicultural societies that do not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension and tragedy. Canada, Belgium, Malaysia, Lebanon – all face crises of national existence in which minorities press for autonomy, if not independence. Pakistan and Cyprus have divided. Nigeria suppressed an ethnic rebellion. France faces difficulties with its Basques, Bretons and Corsicans.” I would then invent “multiculturalism” and encourage immigrants to maintain their own culture. I would make it an article of belief that all cultures are equal: that there are no cultural differences that are important. I would declare it an article of faith that the black and Hispanic dropout rate is only due to prejudice and discrimination by the majority. Every other explanation is out-of-bounds. We can make the United States a “Hispanic Quebec” without much effort. The key is to celebrate diversity rather than unity. As Benjamin Schwarz said in the Atlantic Monthly recently, “The apparent success of our own multiethnic and multicultural experiment might have been achieved, not by tolerance, but by hegemony. Without the dominance that once dictated ethnocentrically, and what it meant to be an American, we are left with only tolerance and pluralism to hold us together.” I would encourage all immigrants to keep their own language and culture. I would replace the melting pot metaphor with a salad bowl metaphor. It is important to insure that we have various cultural sub-groups living in America reinforcing their differences, rather than Americans emphasizing their similarities. Having done all this, I would make our fastest-growing demographic group the least educated – I would add a second underclass, unassimilated, undereducated and antagonistic to our population. I would have this second underclass have a 50 percent dropout rate from school. I would then get the big foundations and big business to give these efforts lots of money. I would invest in ethnic identity, and I would establish the cult of victimology. I would get all minorities to think their lack of success was all the fault of the majority. I would start a grievance industry blaming all minority failure on the majority population. I would establish dual citizenship and promote divided loyalties. I would “celebrate diversity.” “Diversity” is a wonderfully seductive word. It stresses differences rather than commonalities. Diverse people worldwide are mostly engaged in hating each other – that is, when they are not killing each other. A “diverse,” peaceful or stable society is against most historical precedent. People undervalue the unity it takes to keep a nation together, and we can take advantage of this myopia. Look at the ancient Greeks. Dorf’s “World History” tells us: “The Greeks believed that they belonged to the same race; they possessed a common language and literature; and they worshiped the same gods. All Greece took part in the Olympic Games in honor of Zeus, and all Greeks venerated the shrine of Apollo at Delphi. A common enemy, Persia, threatened their liberty. Yet, all of these bonds together were not strong enough to overcome two factors … (local patriotism and geographical conditions that nurtured political divisions …)” If we can put the emphasis on the “pluribus,” instead of the “unum,” we can balkanize America as surely as Kosovo. Then I would place all these subjects off-limits – make it taboo to talk about. I would find a word similar to “heretic” in the 16th century – that stopped discussion and paralyzed thinking. Words like “racist”, “xenophobe” halt argument and conversation. Having made America a bilingual-bicultural country, having established multiculturalism, having the large foundations fund the doctrine of “victimology,” I would next make it impossible to enforce our immigration laws. I would develop a mantra – “because immigration has been good for America, it must always be good.” I would make every individual immigrant sympatric and ignore the cumulative impact. Lastly, I would censor Victor Davis Hanson’s book “Mexifornia” – this book is dangerous; it exposes my plan to destroy America. So please, please – if you feel that America deserves to be destroyed – please, please – don’t buy this book! Israel Cohen wrote about it in 1912. The thing is he was speaking to a meeting of communists in England! And its logged into the library of congress. U.S. CONGRESSIONAL RECORD, HOUSE, 1957, PG 8559. And as for the great nations being great because of multiculturalism, its a fallacy. You don't mix thoroughbreds with work horses and expect a thoroughbred. We've been taught to look at race as a taboo topic...if you're white. But the hard truth is that the noble part of what's now called the white race has disproportionately contributed to the progress of the world. So to think that diluting that strain is going to yield a better crop is insane. Buddy brings up Rome. Rome was started by Aryan people who conquered the native Etruscans. As they spread their influence by means of conquest, their newly conquered subjects were allowed to assimilate into the empire. It brought down the breed. As a result you have the remains of a great civilization surrounded by mixed people. It happened to Greece and India as well. Andy points to all the mixed people as a sign of progress. Nah, its a deliberate attempt to create the perfect slave race. There's a subtle genocide taking place. White people were over 30% of the worlds population less than 150 years ago. We are less than 10% now. As America gets less white, we get more problems. Social engineering? How many people know the true,culturally significant meaning if the word Aryan? Yet we've been taught to view it as a bad word.

Don't get me wrong I HATE pressing 1 for english. 2: dual citizenship can occur a few ways and i dont agree it always causes conflicted loyalty.. If a natural born US citizenship wishes to become a citizen of another country because its their heritage and those countries grant it I feel thats fine. If you were born in another country, immigrate here legally and become a US citizen I think you should have to renounce your citizenship of ur native country to prove your loyalty.

The selective service act requires men to declare citizenship when they register at age 18. I was hundreds of American kids born overseas that enjoyed dual citizenship until conscription came along. My daugher is a dual citizen because she is not subject to the act, if she had been born a male, she would have had to decide and declare at age 18. I have a Jewish retired military pilot friend that was offered a commission to fly in the Israeli Air Force. He was free to go there and do that, but the Army advised him he would lose all military benefits and retired pay if he did. He didn't. The Romans conquored many other countries, but that did not make the conquored people citizens of Rome. They were more occupiers than nation builders. The Romans knew that if you made "outsiders" citizens it has the potential to change their laws culture. They didn't want that. Because of that their organization and military and political structure benefited much of their world and the people that lived in it including the conquored. What we have in the US today is somewhat different and doesn't compare to Rome other than both were "Republics". Citizenship laws are very different in America as are voting rules that can drastically affect public policy. While there may be similarities, it is difficult to draw a close comparison between the two.

Has to be their special approved oil, no more vegetable or peanut oil there! Parts of Calipronia ban Happy Meals unless they have governemnt approved healthy stuff in them. I don't know what's healthy about that...not much. You want "healthy" food go buy it, if you want "unhealthy" food you should be able to buy it, too. An apple has more suspected carcinogens in it naturally than pesticides used to protect the crops fro bugs. In fact, apples have a larger number of suspected carcinogens naturally as tobacco. Schools can only serve certain foods now. No more fired stuff, it must be baked. Never shoulda let the damn schools feed kids in the first place, that's what paper bags and lunch pails were for. In several cities the penatlty for smoking tobacco in public is worse than for smoking pot or crack. In some you can't smoke in your own car, house, or apartment. You cannot eat cheese made by local farmers and sold at farmer's markets because they don't have USDA inspection. You aren't allowed to buy anything to eat USDA doesn't approve of. Kids aren't even allowed to set up a lemonaide stand in many cities anymore. How silly can this stuff get? This list could go on forever......but it is a fact that using anything reasonably doesn't kill you and doing a lot of healthy stuff won't significantly prolong your life. Sure, you can take poison in sufficent quantity to kill yourself within minutes, but the thing that has the largest effect is your genes. So far the government hasn't got that under control....who knows, maybe that's next?

Haha, most of this stuff, although govt enforced, came about from LAWSUITS causing economic havoc and distress, LAWYERS being the villians along with their enablers/ employers. As long as our judges come from and return to the bar, this dynamic will continue ad infinitum...ROMANS::First, kill all lawyers... But seriously, hollywood especially goes WAY too far in their depictions of caucasians as the bad guys, especially blond jocks, totally disproportionate to actual racial dynamics! And why is it OK to say white men can't jump, and we don't have enough racial diversity amongst coaching, but it's wrong to remind anyone that white americans invented the games that pay so much to their latin and and black brothers, and have done more to insure freedom throughout the world than any other "ethnic" group? Don't worry about english disappearing or competing with spanish, those kids mostly want to distance themselves from their uncool immigrant parents. Around the world, american english IS the most sought after second language... That's why we don't need one.... Yes, and with the help of the ungrateful black caucus based in atlanta, his and their greed to become the first black president overcame the primaries, and here we are, stuck with a neophyte who has only barely slowed the bleeding... instead of shoring up the regulatory deficiencies and prosecuting the offenders, he pursued his healthcare plan for his personal legacy, rather than installing one workable piece at a time.... and still no solution to illegal immigration, which would require some military support, unavailable as they futiley attempt to engage, on two fronts, an enemy without inflicting "civilian" casualties as this enemy hides behind and within these same "civilians",who also arm, feed, and supply them as commanded by their "religion"... bring the boys home, and let any who will, fight to secure our borders instead!!

Its fair to assume that our ancestors came from that part of europe. In your mirror your gonna see a celtic, a viking, a welsh, a irish, a scotish, a french, a spanish, an anglo, a german, your gonna see an entire group of people in your face. English 1000 years ago sounded more like German sounds today. Old English was influenced by the vikings, the french, celtics, romans, germans. Etc... If we could get into a time machine and go into the future 500 years we wouldnt be able to understand our decendants. Whether we like it or not, we're becoming a single people. having visited fifty two countries on six continents, i'm one who likes it alot. well said.

Von Steuben said, "Alle kunst ist umsonst wenn ein Engel auf das Zundlock brunzt!" I'm not so sure about becoming "one". There are other forces at work, many that have not changed in in hundreds and sometimes thousands of years. Think those are gonna somehow even out with people all eventually becoming the same? I don't think so. I remember they story of the "Tower of Babble". Just when people think they have accomplished something great someone or something comes along to teach them humility. When Von Stueben said, "All skill is in vain when an Angel pees in the flashole of your musket". he got it right. We ain't gonna get there before something unexpected gets in the way and resets the clock.
