I'm a writer, so I naturally want to write everything that comes to my head. But I'll spare you, and try to make it pretty simple. I'm a musician. I play guitar, piano and mandolin, I sing, and I write my own music. I'd absolutely love to make music as a career, but I'm also realistic about it and am just as happy playing at the coffee house after work. I take my responsibilities very seriously, but I like to have a little fun and be a little spontaneous sometimes. I've taken 1000 mile road trips over the weekend just to go to a concert. I have three tattoos and they all have very significant meanings to me. I like serious conversations about thoughts, beliefs, philosophy, etc; but one of my favorite qualities in a person, friend or otherwise, is their sense of humor. If you're going to contact me, put a little bit of effort into it. If you send me a three word message, that's probably all you'll get back. If you don't know the difference between "your" and "you're" or "there", "their" and "they're", I'm sure you're a nice guy and all, but please take the time you would spend sending me a message to go back to the second grade and learn some basic grammar. I do everything I can to enjoy myself no matter where I am and try to keep a positive outlook on life, even when it's not so easy. My life is pretty good...but maybe you'll be able to add something special 
As far as what I'm looking for, I don't have a specific "type". Which makes things a little bit easier for you  Personally, age is not a big factor for me. I generally associate with a slightly older crowd; I've found that it's a more mature crowd with less drama and more intelligent conversation to take part in. I'm not into games and drama, but unfortunately it seems that most of the guys in my age group are. I think that as long as two people can connect on the same level, it really doesn't matter what year they were born. While I enjoy the relationship part of a relationship, the friendship part is what's most important to me. If you rush things, you risk skipping some really great steps in between, and I'd rather not miss anything.
