Life is funny and full of risks... but take walk with me. I don't know where our walk will take us, but let's take a look.
I'm not everyone's flavor, complex and filled with contradictions. I'm a quiet guy who is comfortable alone but who enjoys doing things with others. I know who I am, the good and the bad and can own my faults.
My current relationships consist of my sons and circle of close friends of many years. After taking a long break from romance and now that my son's are on their own it's time to expand my circle friends and find someone for a deeper relationship.
In the past I've worked in automobile manufacturing and repair. Currently I work for a electrical manufacturing operation in Columbia, Mo. That said I don't live to work but work to live. My focus is learning, personal growth and a outward view, critical things and meeting people who share these views is part of why I'm here. One way I do this is by volunteering my time to various things and causes.
I have a wide array of interests from technology to odd crafting skills. I enjoy riding my bike around town. I'm also a avid reader of how-to books and science fiction, web comics (and comics in general too). I like tinkering and upgrading on my little scooter. On the occasions when I travel it's likely for music concerts. My last two outings were with friends to see Sammy Hagar and Heart. Music is a significant interest of mine and at one point volunteered as a DJ for a internet radio station.
Friends describe me as laid back and that's true. That said once I've decide something is worth becoming involved in I put effort into it. What I hold dear I hold strongly. I'm a better than average listener and look for the humor in life because without it you're truly doomed. I place a great deal of value in honesty, loyalty and compassion.
You should know I'm not Christian, my closest religious affinity is Buddhist and even then more it's philosophical leanings. I try to live by three moral guidelines. 1: Never hurt anyone unnecessarily. 2: Be square with people. 3: You can't make life fair but you can make it less miserable.
Not surprisingly while a pragmatist I lean left of center politically, almost a tree hugger. 
Also I have a few traits some will find less charming. At times I cannot sit and would rather be doing something. My humor leans gallows or even towards puns. I really like British comedy, Red Dwarf, Monty Python and lots more. My cooking skills are thin and I'm okay with that. I have little patience for the chronically angry, even less for bigots and bullies. I like my coffee with enough sugar to send a horse into diabetic shock.
You should know I do not enjoy bars nor a sports fan. While the occasional game is fine if you live for drinking or tailgating, I'm the wrong guy. That and I dislike the cold... otherwise I'm open for whatever.
If you're looking for strictly friends, more friends is never a bad thing. Just realize I'm looking for more.
Lastly I should add this note, I'm not into long distance dating. With no disrespect if you live more than 25 miles away, perhaps serious dating isn't for us. It's not that you're not a nice person, it's that relationships require time together to become real relationships and want to put my efforts there.
