These days I am looking to enjoy my life as it is - to do fun things, both new things and things I know I enjoy doing, to meet new people and to have new experiences to add to those I already have had. I am fortunate to have a lot of friends - including a lot of female friends. And I love my friends. But what is missing is a special partner. I would still like to think that I will meet the woman I have been waiting my whole life for.
I consider myself intelligent and thoughtful. I am told I have a good sense of humor. I place high value on integrity, honesty, and a "good heart".
I am well-read and well-travelled (although the latter falls into the category of "not recently" or, at least, "not enough recently). It is something I would like to change. My friends consider me sensitive and supportive, happy to talk - just as glad to listen.
I have tried skydiving, whitewater rafting, hang-gliding, and ziplining - all fun, and I plan to do more of each. Riding rollercoasters is also a blast (again, something I got back into doing with my daughter a few years back after many years away). I don't live for the adrenaline rush - I just enjoy it. I really hope my partner enjoys it too!
I like casual (but good) dining, visiting museums and other areas of interest, watching a good movie, going to the beach or a ballgame, the mountains or the desert, having pleasant conversations, traveling (big cities or national parks; Europe - I love Paris and Greece; and the US (San Francisco to the Rockies, Boston to Florida). At the behest of my daughter I have started bowling (a great dad/daughter activity), and now do so regularly. I enjoy being outdoors - hiking, fishing, and light bicycling. I have a kayak for recreational flatwater paddling - something I used to do a lot, and plan to do more, now. I still swing the golf clubs, although not as well as I used to and have only recently gotten back on a course.
I like to spend time inside, as well. I used to cook before I got married - I don't cook much anymore, but would like to do more of it. I enjoy reading, watching a good movie on a DVD, table games like Scrabble and Yahtzee. I also have a blast racing my daughter on Mario Kart Wii.
There are thing I haven't done for a while and things I haven't done at all, and I am very open to new things, and willing to try a lot.
These days find me working as a computer programmer. It's not my first career - I expect it will be my last. I enjoy the work I do, the people with whom I work, and I feel the work I do makes a real difference to people. I like that in a profession.
I have a young daughter who spends almost half her time with me - she comes first, and always will. Just so you know.
