I am a happy person and I like to think the best of people. I can be silly, yet am quite sane. I enjoy a good night out but I am also quite content at home snuggling up on the sofa with the right person.
My ideal man is tall with nice hair that I can run my fingers through … someone professional, financially stable, who likes to talk about a variety of subjects, who can slow dance, and make me laugh. But as we know, what we think is ideal is not always the best for us... So, I am leaving my options open.
Movies, performing arts, sporting events, and learning/trying new things are fun. If we are together having fun, it doesn't really matter what the activity is - okay there are definitely some things that I won't do. For example, I am fairly mainstream. If you have major fetishes, I am probably not your girl or if you are into kinky scenes.
Okay...moving on.
After the obvious need for mutual attraction and chemistry is achieved, you may capture my heart if you have good communication skills, are kind, honest, reliable and enjoy physical affection. I am a hugger, so you have been forewarned.  I like a man who is not afraid to share his thoughts with me and can be a true friend.
Even though I'm fairly independent, I still value a man who will take charge (in a kind way) and is assertive with good old fashion manners. I am aware that it may take a while to find the very special person that I'd love to be with and that's okay, it will be well worth it.
I would rather read about who you say you are in your profile. Somewhere the online world advisors decided that every guy should write that it is hard talking about himself and then say something that starts with "My friends say that I am ...". Your friends don't tell you that stuff. Guys just don't talk that way to each other! I do guess it is better than saying "My momma says...". (All said tongue in cheek; however, so many profiles are going that direction.) Maybe the female ones are like that too, I don't know, but my friends say... LOL.
I do have two teenage kids. One is in college and one is a junior in high school. I do not consider my children baggage. They are a major part of my life; however, there is room in my life for the love of a good man.

As a side note, I am ABD (all but dissertation) for my PhD. I will start working on it again in January of 2013 and I am thrilled.
