I'm interested in living my life to the fullest with every breath I take. My experience as an oncology nurse has taught me that life is a precious gift and we need to do it justice by thoroughly enjoying ourselves while we have the chance. I enjoy a balance of quiet nights in -- reading, watching movies, sharing meals with friends -- and engaging in high-intensity activities like kayaking, hiking, jogging, traveling, concerts, etc. I am flexible and laid back, with a wicked deadpan, sarcastic sense of humor. I think laughing is an essential aspect of good health, so I include as much laughter in my life as I can.
In addition to nursing, I also teach a kids ukulele class, play orchestral bass, and sing & strum with my ukulele with friends. Music is an important aspect of my life that brings a sort of calm happiness even in the most chaotic of times. My other passion is for traveling. I've lived in Uganda doing development work, as well as worked, traveled, & studied in various parts of Asia and Central America. I enjoy traveling because it is so humbling; I never come back from traveling the person as when I left.
I'm looking for someone who believes in the Growth Factor. I believe good quality relationships of all kinds should contribute to my own personal growth as well as the other person's. I want someone to challenge me, to debate with me, to push me to my limits, to care about me, and to share both ordinary and extraordinary moments with. I love to travel because I always learn so much about myself and the world around me -- I suppose I'm looking for someone who has the same appreciation for learning.
