I'm just taking a look to see who's out there -- I figure this might be a way of meeting a woman I might not ordinarily cross paths with. I have a lot of interests and am pretty well-educated and well-rounded. I've traveled a good deal overseas, mostly for work, but these days I'm more of a manager that sends people to all the fun places. I've got good friends that mean a lot to me and I enjoy hanging out with them often. I'm from the Northern Virginia area and am lucky to have my family in the area so I can see them often. However, for all that I have going for me and the good times that I have, I haven't found the right woman yet.
I work in the government and have risen pretty rapidly in my profession. And I do still get a few opportunities for interesting travel. I'm happy in my job but not content to rest on my laurels...I'm always looking for opportunities to expand my horizons. After work I often go to the gym, work out at home, or go for a little hike or bike ride in the trails near my place. Sometimes I'll fiddle around a bit on the violin or try my hand at guitar. When the weather is nice I often light up the grill or go for a motorcycle ride. Then I often end up hanging out with friends in the evening, either at someone's house or perhaps in Old Town.
Exercise and a healthy diet have always been a big part of my life. About a year and a half ago I got into the paleo food and exercise program, and I've never felt better (thanks marksdailyapple). I don't really expect to find a woman on here who also follows it (though it would be great!), but I hope she would be open-minded and understanding of it. And don't give me too hard of a time when I go out with the guys for a cigar!
I'm generally very easy going but also have a more serious and contemplative side. I enjoy the lighthearted moments but tend to seek a deeper understanding of things. I always try to seek quality in whatever I partake. Something with meaning, history, tradition. If I'm going to watch a movie, comedies, action flicks, and superhero movies are fun, but my favorites generally explore a principle. If I'm going to have a drink, I prefer a single-malt Scotch or bourbon, or a craft-brewed beer. My music interests are all over the map, though recently I've been partial to Mumford and Sons.
As far as what I'm looking for, like most guys I'm looking for a smart and beautiful woman, but I don't really have a "type" in terms of brunette, blonde, tall, short, or ethnicity. It could be a situation where you come across someone who turns out to be everything you never knew you always wanted. I'd certainly appreciate nice, sweet, attractive, and down to earth. But I'm also looking for a woman who is confident and happy where she is in life. I want a woman with an energy and zest for life and a willingness to let me be a part of it. I want a woman who appreciates an unexpected embrace, where I can pull her close by the small of her back, and feel the excitement in her breath and a sense of longing. Those moments are worth a lot and I'd hope to find someone to share those moments with, who "gets" them in the way that I do. At any rate, to really learn anything about someone you would have to meet and get to know them. Hopefully I'll get to meet someone lovely and surprising who will bring a smile to my face.
