Yo! I'm Nick although my friends simply call me 'Nacho'.
Interests:
My favorite activity above all else is hosting parties where I make many varieties of the world's best nachos along with some other tasty treats. I'm also a great bartender.
I enjoy a wide variety of music, mostly songs for my various party soundtracks. Otherwise, I focus largely on trance, rock, and power metal. A couple of favorites are Gorillaz and Rhapsody of Fire.
I enjoy games and consider myself a hardcore gamer, although real life takes priority these days. I consider the Golden Age to be SNES/Genesis through N64/Saturn/PS1, but that is my great sense of nostalgia talking.
I enjoy numerous authors such as R.A. Salvatore, Ed Greenwood, George R.R. Martin, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Terry Pratchett.
I enjoy action, comedy, martial arts, fantasy, sci-fi, and horror TV shows and movies. The largest portion of my media collection is from the 90's. The Venture Brothers is my favorite show. Some of my favorite series of movies include James Bond, Godzilla, Harry Potter, Monty Python, and most Jackie Chan films.
I love to explore. I have been all across the continental United States. My travels outside the US include Canada, the UK, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Australia. My wish is to journey to Asia (Japan and China) and to many other areas of Europe (mostly western Europe).
I love to try new things in general. This typically means food, but I also organize lots of fun new activities.
About me, and what I look for:
So far, I have my life figured out. I'm currently climbing the ladder at ARRIS. It's a solid and entertaining job testing DVR's. I also have my own place and a good car.
I'm in love with Washington, the Seattle area in particular. I have a spacious condo that I have dubbed 'Nerdopolis' with all the nerd/geek decor and entertainment that I could ever want. However, I am the best kind of nerd: the hybrid nerd that exercises regularly, hosts huge parties, and explores the world.
I'm a positive person and I look for that in others. I always push through problems even if a complain a bit sometimes. Remaining calm in the face of pressure is also important. It's best to approach problems from every angle while remaining patient and highly contemplative rather than overly emotional, which I loathe. Being pressured works against this philosophy, so I do my best to avoid it. I prefer to relax and laugh except when the situation is serious, of course. Also, I'll always help friends when they are feeling down, but when it comes to someone I barely know, I do not feel obligated to try to fix them. I also appreciate kindness, generosity, honest communication, independence, intelligence, and prioritization.
Humor is extremely important to me. I enjoy it in many forms, from clever satire to sheer stupidity. I don't get along with people who are missing a funny bone. I know when to be serious, but I prefer to joke 90% of the time.
I'm not telepathic, so I appreciate blunt honesty.
Don't ask me about religion or politics. I'm not interested.
I don't drink often or very much when I do. I'm not a fan of recreational drugs.
I live by my own moral code and it suits me well. This means, as many others will agree, that I'm a good guy.
I want a long-term relationship, but I'm not afraid to take things slowly at first. I believe in love although I don't feel a desperate need for it. I'm strong and happy on my own, but I'd still like to meet that special someone who is already happy and also looking to enrich her life through romance. Attraction to personality is most important, but there must be some degree of physical attraction upon which to build. Need a nice guy? That's me. Need someone to take care of you? Look elsewhere.
