The Pilgrims chiseled the Injuns out of Manhattan Island for $24 in beads and trinkets - eventually drove them onto veritable concentration camps called "reservations" - which ultimately provided the "legal loop-holes" giving the Injuns exclusive rights to own and operate all of the CASINOS!!! Now, the Injuns are wealthy and the Pilgrims are Mormons!!! Is that KARMA... or, WHAT??? HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! JFK was murdered 49 years ago, TODAY - dead at 1:00 p.m. EST!!! Johnny... we hardly knew ye... EAT, DRINK and BE MERRY... for Tomorrow... Tomorrow... I'll love ya... Tomorrow... you're always... a day... away!!!

Help Me Thanksgiving Day Prayer
O God, when I have food,
help me to remember the hungry;
When I have work,
help me to remember the jobless;
When I have a home,
help me to remember those who have no home at all;
When I am without pain,
help me to remember those who suffer,
And remembering,
help me to destroy my complacency;
bestir my compassion,
and be concerned enough to help;
By word and deed,
those who cry out for what we take for granted.
Amen.

To all the pilgrims who struggled to stay alive especially the women.
Only five women survived the first winter. One of the five survivors, Mrs. Katherine Carver, died in May of a "broken heart," her husband John having died of sunstroke a month earlier. Weak bodies or not, by the time of the famous "Thanksgiving," there were only four women left to care for the Colony's fifty men and children. The four women were Eleanor Billington, Elizabeth Hopkins, Mary Brewster, and Susanna Winslow. Susanna Winslow was the widow of William White who died the first winter; she remarried to Edward Winslow, whose wife Elizabeth had also died the first winter.
