I've seen old movies (maybe Laurel and Hardy) of those old timers with the tall, skinny spoke wheels and tires that seemed to go anywhere. When I removed the original rear end from my '31 Pontiac I took the cover off and checked the gears....4.56. No wonder they would go off-road.

Shocked me too. Original ads said 200 c.i. inline 6 banger (flathead), had 60 h.p. and top speed of 50 mph. At 50, with 4.56 gears, I imagine it was wound pretty dang tight and sounding like it was ready to blow. I never drove it anywhere. After it was unloaded off the truck, I drove it into my shop and parked it. Then commenced to rip it apart.
No way I'd try to do 50 in it.

Still working on it. I try to do as much as I can myself, and if I got any slower I'd be backing up. Stripping each piece and part to bare metal, then condition the metal, etch prime, etc. Purchasing parts as I find them for mock up. Found a standard bore '66 389 that will clean up at .10 thou but will go .30 over so I don't have to have custom pistons made. Edelbrock 2-4 bbl. intake with 2 chrome Edelbrock AFB carbs. Turbo 400 out of '71 GS 455. Ford 9" out of '57 Ford. Boxing in frame now and that's a b*tch.

I've asked santa for Duluth Tradeing Fire hose work pants  to keep the old garage beavers in check 
Projects never seem to stay on schedual or at least mine don't
At least on the model TT truck I gave my self 6 years & going into the 3rd now
The fire truck I had two chances to start on it but passed as I din't have the title yet & the 1st thing to do is spend about $2,000.00 on tires & paint  Not with out the title but now that it finaly was found & brought over & signed over I'm excited if only now the $2,000 can be found again 
My tractors I have no schedual for them other than my 1918 Oil Pull will be 100 years old in 2017-18 And I feel a lot of pressure to have it running then, so at some point all the other projects must stop for the Oil Pull and get it running. Last time I had it running was 1988 & I have a lot to do this time.
the last year not that much got done as the kids keept me very poor & busy as well so at least with them gone I hope I can rebuild my cash as well but at my age that is not as easy as it once was  Plus I still would like to buy the 1934 AC wc tractor if I can get my friend to price it to me?? and I to would like to buy the 1949 Chevy pickup  I realy would. So I expect to die with projects waiting still for me or I will live as long as my Mother has

Well..my toe warmer headed home so watch out..I am back in the garage to aggravate you all. Coming out of the deep freeze to head to...shhhh...30 degrees??!!!! I figure with my vehicles that possession is 9/10th of the law. I can go look at them every day whether driven or done. My attitude when selling...you want? I have. You pay? No pay..you still want and I still have! That is a cool video with all the cards that guy paints. I like the ones that show the trains too.

My husband would have asked if I was nuts bringing him coffee in bed. How inconvenient! Plus in winter, how do you drink it from under the covers. No way sticking any body parts out in the cold. Maybe bring it in a closed cup with straw? Now, which one of us hens would you like to bring you coffee naked? I cant see those prices on tractors. Nuts. I get ticked at auctions cause I want to buy a tool to use on the farm and have to bid against some townie who pays ten times its worth so they can hang it on their wall as art. Try using it..oh..dont know how eh?

Star has good taste. That sag makes us oldies feel better. Gee..THAT young?! Rather obvious which ones are silicone isnt it. Now I am even colder looking at all that exposed skin. Joe called and is working on his 60/70s Gehl skidsteer. Seems it busted two of its three belts for the hydraulics. I had checked for what it had and no luck to find 64 by 5/8th. Seems it runs a wide, three slit belt. Someone didnt want to pay the price so ran it with 3, 5/8th belts together. He doesnt want to pay the $108 for one since the engine is failing and needs new. Now is going to try to see if a car belt will fit. Old one left is 64 inches long but looks like it stretched due to other being 63.It is so nice when people jury rig and you have to try to figure it out.

Whoever built that one pair of headlights shouldnt have been paid. What did he do...stand back and throw and where they stuck they stayed? Yep..always wanted them under each arm! Maybe there was supposed to be three and he missed the middle one. Where is Tucker when ya need him!!!
