I moved to a place with satellite internet. Way too laggy and the bandwidth is too expensive to play an MMORPG, I was wondering if anyone had a good substitute? something that i can play longer than 30 hours. kind of like the old might and magic games, but really in depth.

I dont know what you have in terms of consoles but Dragon Dogma is pretty good.. Its like a Dragon age but more actions, Skyrim you can sink some really long time into that, any fallout pretty much.Dragon Dogma you have 3 others with you and you fight big bosses so I think that is the closet to wow..

Mass effect is an amazing game, as is fallout.
Other then that dragon age and any elder scroll game
Kingdoms of amalur: reckoning is a WoW clone in terms of art.

There are enough RPGs out there that you could literally spend 1000 years and not finish all of them and many have extremely high replay value.
For modern they've pretty much mentioned the big ones: Dragon Dogma, Dragon Age: Origins, and Skyrim are pretty much the biggest around and all very good. There's also a lot of downloadable ones that you don't have to play online.
I personally prefer the old school games, Baldurs Gate, Final Fantasy, Planescape, etc.

Planescape torment if you want an atmospheric player driven experience. Its a real rpg with a great cast of characters. If you are super retarded and hate reading dont play games and kill yourself. This one makes you think about deeper things than "this sword is plus 1 n this axe is plus 2." it has actual choices woven into the game.
That being said Id play icewind dale or baulders gate a few times b4 planescape for the full effect.

I can agree with this for the most part. Anytime I reccomend a great RPG Planescape; Torment is my first reccomendation. However, most folks under the age of 30 can't be bothered to read anything if it's not in txting shorthand so you most likely won't like it.
As for RPGs with lots to do, any game from Bethesda, and not because it's a good game. Bethesda games SUCK, their only redeeming factors are the fact they're highly moddable and thanks to the many modding sites the games are infinitely replayable. I don't think I've ever completed a Bethesda game without it being so highly modded it was teetering on a crash.
All the Mass Effect games are pretty good, well I haven't played 3 yet.
Dragon Age 1 was decent and can keep you tied up for weeks. (also highly modded)
That's all I can think of for now. OH wait, if graphics aren't a great big concern, Arcanum, steamworks and magic obscura (somethin like that) is a great game storyline wise, but it was released really buggy and if not for the modding/fan community Troika would've died even faster than it did. The game IS good, but the graphics are crap. There are some great mods for it that make the game even better.

I would go with the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series.
This. Aside from Fists of Pandara, World Of Warcraft isn't that interesting. My Mass Effect and Dragon Age games gets tons of playing time, though I haven't played it in a bit. Going to dedicate next weekend in making a Mass Effect and Dragon Age weekend......gamer
