Yes, I dream of finding that man who lives on farm. The one with the big house and a huge wrap around porch. A couple of rocking chairs to watch the sun go down. Then I come back to reality, I grew up on a farm. Worked a farm, and played hard. There was rarely a time to sit down. But what I would not give to be knee deep in real manure instead of the manure we call life. I see the other posts asking for this country type or that country type. Tell me, just out of curiosity, what is it you really seek?

I seek to be happy with myself, first; then all other things just seem to fit the mold.

Thanx for saying that, Ms. Us folks that live in the country-particularly us farmers-get pretty amused when city people say the long for the "simpler" life of the country. You have been there and you know it's totally different from the city life.
Finding a single lady that will walk the walk vs talk the talk is the challenge here
Til then, the sunsets seen from the deck, walks in the cool shady woods, fishing in the ponds and seeing natural wonders every day just can't be explained to those that don't/won't work for it.

exactly, the solitude of getting a field ready to plant, driving a 52 M Farmall, working on my tan as a teen. Priceless, plus an awesome sunset. Or freezing my rear off setting jugging pens up for ewes in the middle of a blizzard. Then seeing the fruits of my labor, Again Priceless. Many memories too numerous to mention, but you have to walk the walk in order to be able to talk the talk

I am by no description a farmer, a former city boy that enjoys now living in the country. More country and more land would be good for me, but no farming, planting more trees and the peace of living in the country is enough.
I saw enough BS with city life!

Ain't no life like the country life. True country life is working a farm or ranch. Or does the farm or ranch work you? Making hay till mid night and getting up at 4 am to do it all again the next day. Working cattle in a chute, and getting stepped on, kicked, knocked down, a dirty tail slapping you in the face and getting your pockets filled with cow crap. Getting a cow in that is having trouble calving, on a cold raining morning. Feeding the cows before feeding myself. Having to break a date with a pretty woman, because I have cows out on the neighbor and I got to get them in and fix fence. Getting paid when I sell calves, and make the money last till I can sell more in a few months. Watching the sun set while on the back of a horse, or on a tractor. Seeing the sun rise on that same horse and tractor. Feeding the hay that I worked till mid night on. Watching that calf that I pulled on that cold raining morning grow up and cooking a t bone from him on my grill. My life, and I'm proud to live it!

Amen to that. It has been a challenging year this year with all the rain and mud.
looking forward to making hay if it ever stops raining.

Finally getting crops in this year, now it's hailing. Can't wait to see the fields. Only hope that the rain flooded the fields first before the hail. Hay? Replanted and still don't think there will be much.
