The only time I ever stood up a date was when my uncle passed away and I had to rush home. And you know what, the date in question didn't believe me and never talked to me again! Guess that proves she wasn't worth it anyway.

Don't know, just had it happen to me. He called that day,(twice in a row), with the same bullshit excuses I used to give my chemistry professor in college. I thought he might be a grown up, 58yrs old, reired army colonel......again I say age is just a number. I had said to him after the first time, hey if you've changed your mind just say so, I'm OK with it.

The same reason why women do, it's a game to some people. They set up and get the date just to see if they can. and with alot of the people (GUYS and GALS) do it just to show their friends that the girl or guy would pick him or her over them. It's just ego trips the other girl or guy is a mere pawn. With others its for a thrill but once you agree to the date game is over, and they a not interested anymore... :signlol::

Didn't say how you met him.If it was online, could be he got scared or wasn't
what he said he was (athletic when he was fat, bald when he said he had hair,
or even wasn't the real picture of himself...etc.)If you met him somewhere
else, could be numberous reasons. It happens to everybody sometime...Don't
worry about ,maybe the next one will be a lot better.

Maybe some of you are right maybe it is a game. I am a pretty understanding person so if there was a valid reason I would understand. The first one has not spoke to me since. Time will tell with the second one. But twice in less than 2 weeks is a bit much . It's not that big of deal I am just curious as to why a person would keep calling everyday make a first date and then never show up.

I asked "Why make the date in the first place?" Standing them up cuz they're ugly doesn't even make sense...unless they were drunk when they asked...and THAT'S a whole 'nother thread topic....

Now that wasn't nice of you at all, Pally...I think that most of us have been stood up at one time or another...I think most of it stems from fear....

I've never done that and never will. If I don't make it, you'll have to dig six feet to find my corpse or visit me in the hospital.

Since all the specifics are unknown, you may want to check out the LadderTheory as it may answer some of your questions.

Keep trying. I'm SURE you will eventually find someone.

I've only stood up a girl once.Waiting for her to get home, stop at the bar
& had a FEW beers .Called her to see if she was home & told I was on my
way.Drove down the highway,tire blew out,hit the side of a bridge(ate the
steering wheel on that one),ended up in ditch(went head first into the
windshield on that one).Went to the hospital, then jail ,
(I was 2 hrs. late)but
I still called her from jail & told her I wasn't going to make it

I have been stood up a couple different times. The first time is always the hardest but sometimes you get good stories out of it. Mostly i think it comes down to fear of being themselves. But I really would not know I have hard enough time getting that first date.

I was only stood up once by a woman who later confessed she stood me up because she really wasn't the woman in the picture she had sent me, which turned out to be a picture of her younger sister. I got my revenge later tho - when I dated her younger sister!
