I would put crossfit athletes and paleo Eaters up against any athlete and their diet up against any man or women no matter thier fitness or health view. Everyone deep down wants to be healthy and no pill or diet will do that. Way of life and training our body the way it was designed for and its functions is the right way to approach true health. This is my opinion but I have done the research and can't find anything healthier for way of eating. I challenge everyone to be open and not closed to the idea and do your research. I believe paleo is heathcare and all else is sick care.

I get the Rushfit newletters and they had an interesting article about Paleo and athletes a couple of months ago. Their opinion is that there isn't enough carbs in it for serious athletes.
Here's the link to it:
http://blog.gsprushfit.com/paleo-diet-a-breakdown/
It also references another article which is also a good read on the subject.

On the flip side, I know extremely fit and active people who swear by Paleo and say they feel much better on it.

A few days ago I decided to give up breads and grains, part of the Paleo diet, cut sugars and starches, eat more vegetables, fruits, fish, grass-fed beef, etc. I do drink alcohol, but not excessively, and I cut down, maybe on average 7 or 8 beers a week. Plus, I work out 3 times a week, weights followed by 30 minutes of cardio. I've seen low carb breads on the shelves, with only about 6 or 7 grams a serving. I'm wondering if that bread's okay.

It's not about low carb bread its the toxic response and the lack of nutrition you get from grains compared to fruits and veggies. The way your insulin responses to the 2 are very different also. Not one good thing came from grains except to feed the masses during the famine in the early 1900s. Of course they had no idea what it would turn into or effect our health. I would strongly suggest no grains high good fat and good protein and you will never go back. With what's out there for eating and baking its just crazy to go back to sick care.

Crossfit athletes are the most athletic athletes out there and it's proven in what we can do and have done. 50-100 grams of carb is very much plenty ofcarbs and not from grains

Yes paleo is the best but not even Rich Froning is strictly paleo. I try to go by the rule 85% paleo 100% of the time although that 85% can turn into 75% with a couple of drinks lol!

I've heard there is a condition that will turn your urine a dark brown caused by the massive amt. of muscle tears as an effect of crossfit. Some guy filed a lawsuit and got boat loads of money.

It's called Rhabdo. Your body is breaking down muscle so fast that it gets in your bloodstream and in your kidneys. Cant deny some of the things Crossfit has done for some. But I dont think everything has to be full 100% all the time. Personally think a good system like Wendler 5/3/1 or a 5x5 type style combined with hill sprints or pushing a prowler sled is alot better for most people. more conditioning than the average person needs

Actually he is pretty far from Paleo.. He basically eats Peanutbutter and whole milk or Protein shakes all day, then settles down with a real meal in the evening. Not knocking it. actually very smart. He knows what works for him and does it.
