I just moved to Atlanta & I expecting to date beautiful, black, educated, respectful women (since there's so many). However after attempting to go out with black women who Where making it hard to have a simple dinner I caved and asked out a different race. I know it's 2013 but I went to an all HBCU (Howard Univ), I'm from an urban neighborhood, I spoke down to my brothers for being "uncle toms"...I am in shocked bc I actually want to see her again & she loved our date. It's my first time & her family isn't ok with her dating cops or blacks & I'm both. WTH?? IS IT WORTH IT?? if I fell in love am I a sellout?? I can't or haven't told anyone I love

Y'all have some f**ked up ways in your part of the Country to be thinking this shit. I just saw on CNN the other day that a school in Georgia had there first integrated prom. People were outraged. It used to be a black prom and white prom. What kind of shit is that? We don't deal with stuff like that on the West Coast.
If you want to date a white girl, go for it. I guess it's more acceptable in some parts of the Country. If you fell in love on the first date I suggest you calm your a** down. It was a first date.

Well.. I know how hard it can be living in the south.
I personally have never been out with a black guy..
And the few times I've thought hmm..I like him, I've quickly put the thought away. I'm not racist by any means but I would never openly admit to being interested in a black guy..it's not acceptable here.
Of course we have white girls here that do date black guys but if they do they tend to lose respect from ppl. I really don't want to be on the receiving end of that.
However, I think if you really like someone enough their worth getting to know regardless of the public's opinion..

I moved from Washington state to Georgia almost 2 years ago and people down here are shocked that I would date/have dated outside my race. These comments come from blacks, whites, Latinos. I had a college educated white man who grew up in Georgia ask me if my parents where okay with me dating outside my race. First of all that's never e been an issue and second I am 36 years old, I don't have to bring him home for their approval.

Ahhhhh... Sooooo much can be said about this. First off, congratulations for trying something new! Second F everyone else and their opinions. We as a human race need to stop letting our differences divide us and we need to embrace them and learn from each other! One of our biggest weaknesses is our fear of the unknown. Do we really want future generations living in fear? Or can we be able to unite as one and become to our full potential? Everyone has experienced racism. Yes, it sucks, but it's all how you handle it. You can choose to let it make you inferior or you can choose to let it empower you and make them sick with your success and happiness. I am from the South born and raised. My dad is from the west coast in a town that was all white and my mom is from the South... just a little of my family background... living in the area I grew up I was actually the minority a lot of the time so the racism was reversed. I've heard it from both ends and I'm sick of it. I remember being in middle school and telling my mom I didn't want to have all white babies whenever I eventually have kids. She just said okay, as long as I have grandchildren! LoL Growing up I have experienced that white men aren't as attracted to me cuz I'm a thicker girl so I've learned to love every other race and it has been a wonderful experience. So my advice is to embrace it! If a budding relationship doesn't come out of it at least you can say you have learned something from it.

I've never personally dated outside my race only reason being is that I haven't been successful at it  so I've only dated black women my entire life. All my experiences with my black women have been awesome to date. Because I only date a particular type educated, classy, simple and a woman who isn't into a lot of the club scene or really cares about social status among other black people. They're out there but they are super hard to find.
I'm happy for you man. So I guess it really depends on the area you live in. So with that being said if you're surrounded with a ton divas and basketball wives style/aura women. I'd look to other ethnicities to, matter-of-fact I'd run to them!!! Hope it works out.

Well.. I know how hard it can be living in the south.
I personally have never been out with a black guy..
And the few times I've thought hmm..I like him, I've quickly put the thought away. I'm not racist by any means but I would never openly admit to being interested in a black guy..it's not acceptable here.
Of course we have white girls here that do date black guys but if they do they tend to lose respect from ppl. I really don't want to be on the receiving end of that.
However, I think if you really like someone enough their worth getting to know regardless of the public's opinion..
My experience here in Alabama is that white women here are taught not to date outside their race. In church Bible strictures were manipulated to support racist ideals. This was confirmed when I was told by a 23-year-old white female another 27-year-old white female and a 53-year-old white male I received those answers a year ago 2012. I asked the white females would they consider dating outside their race particularly a black guy they said (no I'm not racist but the Bible says not to date outside our races), it blew my mind that at this day an age even educated white women in the south (AL) would blindly believe it an follow those teachings to the letter even when presented with evidence that shows that they are dead wrong.
If I was a white guy I wouldn't date a white woman that believes in those types of teachings I'd like my woman to be smart enough to search out the truth for her self and have the courage to stand up for what's right and to those who have lied to her.

Dude you are making a lot more of this than needed.finding someone you can enjoy is a difficult thing and there are other aspects you should be concerned with.

You're not a sellout, but I'd suggest that you do it because you simply like the other person and avoid the whole "black women suck so I switched up my game" speech. It really makes you look bad.
