WEDDINGS pervs!!!

So I got home from a big fancy to do wedding tonight, and now I sit and watching Sex In The City movie...

How important is a wedding to you if you ever do it again? Big or small?

Are you doing it to impress your friends, are you doing it to show off? Or are you truly doing it for the reason it was meant to be?

I for one don't want a big wedding next time around. I only need me and him

I find weddings a big fat waste of money and just a way to try and out do the last one someone had. I feel it should be about the couple and the love not about who can spend as much money as they can.

The only people I would like with me is my parents and kids other than that I could care less.

My wedding was big and it was fun. My next, if such a thing exists, will be small. Real small. Not even sure I care if a wedding happens. It's fun to have a big wedding at least once though. If you have never had a big wedding, go for it.

I guess mine was more simple then small, I had lots of my friends that I wanted there.

Even if I had an extra $150,000 to blow, I just wouldn't on a wedding.

Trolling, good point. I guess small to one would be big to another and vice versa.

ok, so what about dollar amounts? I have known girls to spend $10,000 plus on just a dress.

What would be your top dollar to spend for a total wedding?

Mine was held during a Christmas party at our home. It was small by wedding standards, I guess.

While I loved it and wouldn't have done it any other way, I kind of miss not having had the big white dress and attendants and all the hoopla and the church and the reception. I don't miss not spending that kind of money, though. (We had planned on renewing our vows, though, in a church, and I'd have gotten a sedate white wedding dress. So I guess that would have covered what I kind of miss.)

If I were to do it again, though, it's quite likely it'd be outside, beside a lake, or on a boat or something. So no big blowout thing.

Watching weddings on TV and watching Sex in the City on TV is a sure fire way to avoid ever getting married, big or small. There is such a thing as being impossible to relate to.

I think those kinds of weddings are the best Lake, they are very personal and intimate.

My gf had one on NYE and it was so sweet and simple and beautiful.

I had a wedding in my parents back yard, and when my oldest niece got married she got married at my parents farm. I think its very sweet and real.

I was never that little girl that dreamed about having the big fairy tale wedding. It was never important to me. I had a small wedding of 75 people at my parents beautiful home with my stepdad officiating the ceremony and my dad walking me down the isle (stairs)..I wore a simple plain fit n flare dress with a long veil. The reception was there too and my mother catered the whole thing..small wedding but perfect for me. If I ever remarry its Vegas baby for me!..lol..

Ladie that sounds sweet. I am surprised by the girls who also believe in small sweet ones.

I think society makes so many little girls think that they are suppose to have these big fairy tale weddings.

Mac, it surprises several people who know me because I am a very girlie girl and I like dressing up and being pretty and I do like attention too lol However, I just don't see the point of it all. I can think of so many things I would rather have then a big wedding. And I still want a nice honeymoon.

I don't care to have a big wedding again.

My first marriage we eloped so my second one if it happens will be semi small but I'm getting the dress, bridesmaids, etc but have mainly family and friends. It can be a church or someone's house and the food will be simple fare. I want my special day but I don't want to spend over $10, 000 for a wedding.

What do you mean E?

Ladies I am surprised by the small wedding answers. But I do think it's

Tess, yes, I never understood the passing on the wedding dress, it is a sweet sentiment however, times changes and it is usually A LOT of year later and styles colors etc.

I do have my grandmothers wedding dress in a box in my closet but its not that someone well ever wear it I am sure but the fact that it is cool and it means something to me.

I had one in a city hall by the mayor and another at a lakefront park gazebo, a small circle of friends and family in attendance and backyard reception parties.

Joe very good poi t on it being for the Mother and I think there is a lot to that.

I'll have to remember that when my kids get of that age lol

I think for all those that said justice of the peace however, that is TOO small for me. That seems very impersonal!

I do t think I could do the go I. An office and slap us on through. Now just hi.and I on a beach with a judge is a lil different. I dont know why but it is to me.

Dee...I don't look at it like that. I believe in marriage so if I ever do it again I will fight hard for it. I won't go in thinking that it might or will end in divorce.

Joe lol I'll look you up when I'm ready! and yes I know I did it once so I could marry some friends. Everybody and their dog can perform a wedding.

One time for the wedding, keep it small it's more fun. They say 50% of all marriages end up in a divorce and 60% of 2nd marriages end up in divorce. Save your money you will need it later!

$15,000 in the whole the wedding I went to last night was at least $150,000 if not more!

I think even if money isn't an object it is silly to waste it on that. I don't feel I need to show off and show my friends how much money I do or don't have.

Obviously to each their own, but I agree why start a marriage off in debt if you can't afford it? Or make your parents go in debt for it.

And then you have those Bridizillas that you don't even want to talk to your friends for over a year while they are trying to plan a wedding. lol

I have one on FB right now that I want to block until her wedding is over!!!

lol...I do enjoy the bridezillas! It's like a car wreck, you can't help but watch in horror.

If money was no object, and so a wedding of that caliber was just a drop in the bucket...yeah, I'd do it. After all, I'd be employing dozens and dozens and dozens of people directly, and tons more peripherally. So you know, it's a good thing! lol

It would be fun to have a large party, and provide a good time for my family and friends, and being at the center of attention isn't a bad thing.

I'm not sure I'd want to leave my party, though.

lol Lake I see you point but I still wouldn't want it.

When I got married the first two I had TWO wedding dresses, I didn't decide until the morning of the wedding which one I was going to wear. One was big fancy, expensive and over the top that everybody else wanted me to wear. I had bought a second dress that only my Mother seen that was more me and suited to the wedding and the one I ended up wearing.

Because E I can get years of use out of my purses. A wedding is a one day event. I can't wear that dress again, that cake taste no different then any other cake I can eat in a lifetime.

Like this wedding last night they had paper towels make for the bathroom with their names on them for when you washed your hands. Seriously, because I need to wipe my hands on your names at your wedding.
