Excuse my lengthy post here , but will state the comics I recall for most part are no longer in print , I read nearly ever local ( Topeka, Kans. & other cities like St. Louis.Mo. Kansascity , Denver post Sunday news papers from age 9 until a few years ago quit due to poor eye sight & costs , Also read Saturday evening post , life .Look , & Colliers magazines cover to cover including the adds, this enabled me to do better school papers improving my grades .

Fish, you sound like you liked to read as much as I do! Have you ever tried reading the newspapers online where you can enlarge the print to accommodate senior eyesight? I read several papers online, local and national, every morning! Washington Post has the best comics section!
I read all those magazines you mentioned growing up and knew where all my relatives kept their reading material which I would read when we visited them on Sunday afternoons. I read all of my uncle's collection of Popular Mechanics and Popular Science magazines cover to cover (only way to read anything, JMO) which was unusual for a girl, but I loved them!

Brenda Starr, Popeye (was he a comic strip or just in comic books?) Loved to read comic books - the owners of our local grocery store used to hate to see me coming - I would read all the comics on the magazine rack but very seldom bought any!

Pickles is my favorite - so true to life most of the time! Also like For Better Or For Worse, even thought the strip is being repeated from the days it first began. My daughter led me to look at Zits when my grandchildren were going through their teen years - very funny strip.
