...your weight isn't going to stay offif youdon't exercise.I've wondered why there's a seperate weight loss forum when there's an exercise forum. ThenI found out,it's for the lazy people. Diets alonedon't work long-term!

No correct.

No matter their weight -- when they begin their weight reduction program -- their physicians will insist upon an exercise program. Even wiggling one's toes, in the beginning, can be an exercise for obese people.

Activity is the key...whether it's parking further from the door at the store, or walking around the block. Next time walk two blocks and keep going.

I remember when I first started riding my bike I thought I wasn't gonna make it around the block..but I did, now going further and challenging those small hills now.

I think what the op is saying about keeping the weight off is that if you diet alone your also loosing a lot of muscle therefor your metabolism is slowing down making it easier to gain weight back I also agree with the lazy people just want to diet

Yeah ray. Many people don't know that with dieting alone, the body adapts to lower calories by slowing down calorie burning, then voila, the diet stops working. And that weekly resistance training of some sort is needed to raise the body's around-the-clock calorie-burning back up to keep the weight off when the person goes back to normal food portions, i.e. higher calories, and prevent the rebound weight gain.

I totally agree! I started my weight dropping journey at 320 and exercise has always been key ! I used to just do the elliptical for low impact cardio and once I got stronger started taking an exercise class that incorporates strength training, cardio and toning . Even though I'm down 96lbs(70 more to go) I'm still probably the largest person in class but I can say definitely one of the STROGEST! I wish more people that are very overweight would exercise and not be afraid of what others think or even worse afraid of the HARD WORK
