On two of those occasions, they were women from a foreign country who were highly intelligent and highly kind. Both stayed for one year and I could not continue with either relationship. In the few occasions that I've encountered that attitude among women over 40...they tended to respond very favorably (after the initial OMG how dare you!) to a man who stood his ground & didn't kowtow to the foolishness.
