It's going to snow tonight.
No opening the window shades, turning off the lights, and looking out at the magic white wonder descending to bury all the ugliness and other woes.
No one to cuddle up on the couch with, enjoying a hot drink, the fire in the hearth dancing, Christmas music and the feeling of being loved and secure in each other.

Now I'm just alone and cold, and having trouble bringing the wonder back into my life.

What a waste of snow, on me.

All of us here know how you feel, but there can still be some enjoyment in life, even when you're alone. The sun will still shine and the snow will still sparkle...not the same feeling as when you're sharing it with a loved one, but still there, just the same. In the meantime, until we find a new love, or someone to share our lives with, we just have to learn how to appreciate the good things in life by ourselves. No sense letting life pass us by completely, we know very well how precious and fleeting life is. Best to try to enjoy every moment that we have.

My area got a ton of snow as well as cold. The snuggling at the cabin was awesome! Life is what you make it! It's a long road back sometimes, but well worth the journey!

Today is the sixth anniversary of the day i lost my DH.
I can "cheer up" on other days, but on this day I allow myself to mourn without chastising myself for the "pity party" and my terrible loss.

In two days it will be four years for me--So far so good--I don't want to have a pity party anymore--I rejoice that I experienced a love that many never experience in their live's--I am a better person because of him and he because of me--

Tomorrow is my wife's birthday. I have taken the day off work and will spend the day doing things in her honor. I'm going to visit a few places and restaraunts that we used to enjoy together. I am going to celebrate her birthday by remembering the good things we used to do together.

It seems like i am going down an awful long, dark road. Wish the lights would come on and someone special would be waiting for me at the end of the road
