I do not think it matters myself. My age my kids are already adults.
Grown doesn't mean mature that applies also to the parent lol.

You know, I always feel a little bad when this topic comes up, but I think in general unless I REALLY, REALLY clicked I wouldn't. For me, I'm going to be 31 coming up in a few months, and by now just about most of my friends all have children. I'm just at that age where by now everyone who's going to have them, do. And I'm sitting here going what the hell have I done with my life? I've been busting my balls working 2 jobs to make what I make, and honestly before I thought about helping to support a family I'd rather be making that amount of money just working 1 job. Which means I need to be getting off my a** and somehow fitting some classes in with 2 jobs. I know you can argue that single moms are already supporting their kid(s) but I just wouldn't feel right not stepping up to help take that role. It just stands to reason that if I got serious enough with a single mom, I'd also be getting a family with that deal because I'm not really the type just to see someone and mess around, I want to see someone that hopefully will turn into the real deal given the chance. But responsibly, I just can't take on a family until I'm doing better. How am I going to be there for a family if I'm always gone busting my a** working 2 jobs?
So for me, it's not really so much the response of "Oh, kids? F*#$@ that!" as it is "Whoa... would I be able to be there and step up as 'step-dad' for them?" and I think that responsibly, I need to improve some things with my own situation before I gave myself the chance to take up that role. I respect the living hell out of any single parent for being able to step up and take care of things and be there to raise their kids too. Because right now, I question my own ability to be able to provide.

I think if you are thinking of dating someone you should get to know the person alittle before you ask them out. That way if your not wanting to date someone with kids this is your screening tool. But dont just go into it blindly. Dont date someone like 5 or 6 times than say oh by the way here's my 5 little darlings. Then it becomes just awkward. Set all your likes and dislikes on the table and be honest and up front.

I would have a hard time dating someone with young children. I raised my child and am done with that. Their kids would hopefully be at least teenagers or older. Preferably out of the house if it was really serious.

Some guys are opposed to dating women with kids because the kids usually come before the person their dating. It can cause relationship issues.

Some of us men realize that children come first but women also need to realize that they need to make their man a priority. Not tell them that we'll have plenty of time when the kids are out of the house and we are almost dead. I won't wait forever to have a woman pay attention to me
just how it is. Men also need to make an effort in that regard too.

I feel the same as utsw I already raised my daughter and at my age I am really trying to get my career going, I don't know if I would want to take on children. Now having said that there is always a chance that if i meet someone who has children that are still at home and I really connect with them then I can and will change my mind after all life is always changing and you need to be open to that change.

I have struggled because I have a disabled boy who needs me still even though he is an adult. Someday he will move out but I'm sure he will always need me. I gave a lot of attention to my ex boyfriend he was never really neglected in our relationship nor was I but still it did not work with us but I always knew it wouldn't he had his own issues and told me he would never except my kids confessed he wanted a women with none even though he had 2 under 18 he was raising. I said at 50 you think you will find a childless women?? Good luck with that lol.

You're better off without this kind of man anyway. Kids who are special needs require extra time if a man can't understand that then you don't want him. I also think couples need to understand they have to make time for each other you don't make time for your partner it doesn't help grow the relationship. It's easy to get caught up in the busy world we live in and making your partner a priority is important. That's my .02 cents.
