I rather not own any exotic or wild animals but it would be Heaven to watch them in the wild or outside my door.
I would love to have a Sphinx cat. There is something about those adorable, wrinkled cats that I adore. Rex and Turkish Van cats are also beautiful and affectionate.

I don't know what it is called. It is very expensive (so they say).Looks like a little fox in the face, with the most beautiful blue eyes ((don't know if that is a genetic anomaly)), looks like a little fuzzy teddy bear all over, short hair, spiky ..... I have only ever seen just one. ... oh ... and they walk kind of stiff-legged (like not bending their front legs at the knees)....

That sounds like a Corgi. There are two breeds of them, and both are cute dogs. That was actually the breed I thought you may have been talking about.

Here's a Pembroke Welsh Corgi

Here's a Cardigan Welsh Corgi (with blue eyes (It's a merle factor)

BTW- I saw an article today that said Corgi's were one of the breeds that were on the endangered dog breeds list. They are becoming fewer. This is sad. A Corgi is a breed that I wouldn't mind having someday.

I like the Pembroke Welsh Corgi (the one in the top picture of my last post).

Beautiful Corgi, Reece....but the dog I saw was not a Corgi. The little dog I am referring to stands about 18 inches at shoulder. Their legs are longer than a Corgi's. I still have not found the dog I am talking about but I did find another beautiful dog that I would settle for: a Kishu ... very rare and seldom found outside of Japan. Of course if I had a Kishu I would also have to have a Jaguar.

I also thought of a Schipperke, but they are only 12-13 inches in height, and solid black.

You have me puzzled, yet curious.

I can't explain this little fellow I saw very well. As I said I only saw him that one time, last summer while on vacation.

He is a steely silver in color, has fur which is about a half-inch all over (makes him look like a little bear), when you rub their fur it pops right back up (kind of like when you rub your hand across a regulation military flat-top), reason I call him a little military type dog. lol

He walks kind of on his tip toes with stiff legs.

Has a beautifully sculpted face like a fax, narrow and fragile in appearance.

The one I saw had piercing blue eyes (but that could have been a genetic defect). (I have heard that blue eyed canines go blind more often than not --- more so than other dogs.)

The little dog I am talking about has a flagged tail which curls up over his back.

He is a very alert, charismatic, and friendly little breed. Very intelligent.

I do believe the woman who owned him said that his breed was a winner at that famous dog show not too many years ago.

If I ever discover what this breed is I will let you know.

I know I am probably boring you with all of this, but the little guy left an impression on me. He was gorgeous.

Cup, this is my final guess, after this, I'll wait till you remember and post it.
Maybe an Australian Cattle Dog. The size and color are right- but they normally do not have blue eyes, but I guess it can happen in any breed of dog (recessive gene)

OT- I think I would like a clouded leopard. They are so pretty. But I think especially a snow clouded leopard.

But I'd only want it if I had a huge compound for it to have a mate, and be able to run, hunt, and be happy and free in.

Jaguar- the cat or the car?

Black jaguars (cats) are beautiful

If I could own any animal- well when my pack are gone (that's a long, long way down the Road, I think I'd like to have both a Schipperke (Skip per key) and a Shiba Inu. Both are medium sized and beautiful and active dogs.

Here's a Skip

Here's a Shiba Inu

Ah ha! Looks as if you have located my mystery dog.

It is the Shiba Inu. The bottom pic looks almost exactly like the one I saw except that the one I saw was a steel grey color.

Thanks for posting, Reece.

We had a beautiful white Spitz for years and this little Shiba is the smallest of the Spitz breed. Wonderful dogs.

Actually, a friend messaged and told me that they bet it was a Shiba Inu. I didn't think of them, in part because of the blue coat/blue eyes. Shiba's aren't supposed to have those. That's what threw me off.
Shibas are usually Red, Sesame, and Black and Tan. Red and black and tan are both in the one picture. Here's a Sesame

I love how their expression and shape of their mouth makes them look like they are smiling.

I was curious about the blue eyes and coloring, too, Reece.

It seems that a genetic twist can occur in any species.

For instance:

I have a Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie) .... there are three distinctive colorations for Shelties:

Tri-color (black, white, and rust)

Sable (black, white, rust ... but with distinction that the black and white are not primary ... what I have)

Blue Merle ... a silver, blued eyed breed (a definite genetic anamaly) ... This is a beautiful Sheltie .. I almost purchased one but the genetic traits are so devastating that these beautiful dogs go blind early in life and cannot be breed with any other Sheltie except another Blue Merle. That type breeding perpetuates the genetic disorder.

The tri-color can be breed with a sable, and vice versa ... But neither with a Blue Merle ...

A tri-color or a sable can "throw" a blue merle ...... but a blue merle cannot "throw" a tri-color or a sable.

I think they may be the same reason the Inu is so rare in the silver/blue eyed breed.

Cheer- I have really enjoyed this exchange over these dogs, and do not want to make you upset with me- but I believe in telling it straight the best I can- especially when it comes to these dogs.

I'm knowledgeable about the merle genetic- I used to own a blue merle collie (20+ years ago), and currently have a blue merle Australian Shepherd (BTW- Aussies come in both red and blue merle), and honestly, a merle should NEVER be bred to another merle. That is what causes the devastating problems these dogs have.

The ones with the problems are double merle pups. They are predominantly white. They can be born blind, or have eye deformities. I've even heard of them being born without eyes. They most usually are also deaf.

The best breeding for a merle, is merle to tri color. Tri color is what they would have been without the merle gene.

Oh, dear, Reece, why in the world would I be upset with you for expressing your personal opinion and knowledge about Collies?

While my little dog resembles a miniature Collie he is still a Shetland Sheepdog.
