I never got a actual 'Dear John" but this girl I dated all through high school sent me a letter telling me she couldn't write any longer because she was 'going steady" with a guy and he wouldn't like it!
I wrote her back and explained it was okay.I was pretty busy and she wasn't a priority and way down my mailing list anyway.

I saw the gal who wrote me my "Dear John" and I know for sure I dodged a bullet! I was at a funeral for a high school buddy who died and she came in, I didn't even recognize her! She was three ax handles wide, and would make "market weight" at the stockyards easily and had a oxygen bottle rolling behind her....

I know one married guy who got drafted at like 25 years old (his name was Doug)....his old lady DJ'ed him...he went AWOL at Ft.Knox and ended up in jail ...he didn't belong in the Army and she wasn't worth all the shit she caused him!
