My sister claims she raised her kids alone all the time yet she is the one that has to pay custody because the father has full custody and she gets them on the weekends and a few weeks during summer break 
She doesn't have a clue on what it means to really raise kids "alone"...

but then again.. they do have mamaobam and their " excuse's " and " reasons " for THEIR bad choices ..
you may be an unwed mother....
but the proper term for a single parent is a DIVORCED
or widowed parent raising said child FROM that MARRIAGE. 
Does the truth really bother you unwed mothers and fathers that much.?
A " Single Parent " IS:
The married mother OR father of a child due to the result
of DIVORCE or death and raising said children resulting
from their marriage alone
due to above stated death or divorce..
But the uneducated riff-raff and their misinformed minions

I am a single mom, my ex decided it would be great to move us to a different state and then ask for a divorce a couple of weeks after we moved. Fortunately I had some family an hour away. Now my son and I are staying with my family. Now I take care of my son even though my mom and my aunt help me out with him he is with me most of the time and I am the one taking care of him. My ex has had him a total of 3 times since July. My situation is not a permanent one. I will be getting a place of my own, but I can't at the moment.
Now my family has stepped up and backed me up when I've had an emotional day especially at the beginning and I was dealing with a 3 year throwing tantrums all day (part his age and part the situation) but that doesn't make me less a single parent because I have help!

I am divorced. 60/40 time with boys. I pay child support.
My ex cheated on me and is maintaining that relationship with that a** hole. The war goes on one battle at a time.
