I just call them Pepsi now.

My grandpaw used to go to the store when he was young a get a poke full of a candy. They traded eggs for the candy cause they didn't have money.
When my great grandpaw was young. He drop out of school at 9 to go to work at the cotton mill to go to work to help his family.
When my cousins and I was growing up we always would build damns or clubhouses/treehouses. I just wonder if kids still do that kind of stuff. We would also rode our bikes everywhere. During spring break you could always find us down in the branch catching crawdads/minnows/spring lizards. When the weather got really hot we would use old shampoo bottles and have a water fight. When all the cousins got together we would play rollie bat and at night we would play hide-in-go-seek. Mom and dad didn't have to worry cause everyone in the neighborhood was kin or had lived there long enough to know everyone.

*smile* Such wonderful memories yu hav e,playing with cousins everywhere.. My late hubb used to do that with his family when they were all kids.. For me, I would go somewhere and the neighbours would poke out their heads seeing my mom or grandmother looking down the street- Neighbours always told which direction or whos house I was at.. Memories can be wonderful .. .. And I certainly had my manners ,still do.

I can't remember the last time I saw a kid mowing grass. I can't begin to count the number of yards I mowed as a kid for 50 cents per yard. That's how I was able to buy my first bicycle and I polished it daily because I was so proud of it.
Today, most kids come home from school, turn on a computer, eat 3 bags of potato chips, and wash it down with a 2 liter coke. No wonder our kids are so fat today. They don't work when they get home from school like I had to do. AND . . . they don't appreciate much either because it is given to them without them having to earn it.

The reason why we don't hear prayer in the schools any more is because
in many homes prayer had already been stopped long ago. My mom/dad taught us
how to pray at home. If we got the opportunity to pray at school it was a
just an added blessing. But I think I understand what you are saying. Our leaders
especially our nine black robes are in such a hurry to jettison GOD from our
Nation it make your head swim. I still say that these people are "brain dead"
or they are high on some passed used drug(s). I don't believe anyone can be as
stupid as that to kill off their own children. As you probably notice one thing
leads to another.

As for me --it never hurts me to say a silent prayer--no matter where I am and quite often do it ..Its from me so dont worry one iota if anyone here knows I am saying a prayer or not..
